If I remember correctly, I believe the whole shoulder includes the butt and picnic cuts. The picnic is lower towards the leg, there's usually a piece of skin on it. I've only made butts once or twice, curious how it compares for pulled pork. Nevertheless, that pic got me hungry, can een focus on these spreadsheetsOn the package it came out of it was labeled shoulder. It didnt taste like ham so im assuming its still in the butt family. I gotta see if i have another pic of a butt I've done.
Couple of places sell pimento wood for smoking, but expensive as hellAnything you want really. I personally fukk with chicken thighs only with jerk. You can make jerk with just the marinade and kill it but that smoked flavor from the pimento wood is just .
You already got the smoker part of it which a lot of people skip out on. I want to try it on some ribs and finish it with a glaze. This thread got me hyped for this summer.
I own a Pit Barrel Cooker.
You hang your meats like
I used to have an offset smoker and this blows it away in both taste and efficiency.
It cooks a lot faster, it taste better, and i don't have to sit there and constantly check to make sure the temp stays at 200-250.
On top of the fact that it's only $299.
I'm telling you brehs, get this and you will

I don't know if I'm giving away the game but try this. Whenever I smoke jerk chicken I burn some pimento seeds / allspice berries, bay leaves and cinnamon sticks.
. It's smell like a loud pack, but the flavor is what got me approval from an old Jamaican lady. She said "it tastes like it was cooked right" meaning not just jerk sauce and in the oven or whatever.
@Crizzy you went ham, no pun intended I'm going to do a turkey at the end of Ramadan, then a brisket after that.
Where did you get yours. I've wanted one to personally collect for a while.
I went and looked at grills today. First I went to Home Depot, this dumbass store had all the grills on the display on the middle shelf, which is like 6ft off the ground. Keep in mind there's no ladder or stairs so you can see shat they look like, but it's impossible to open them and look at the grates or how much space there is, and most importantly where the seams connect and such I went brisket shopping too, and there's another home depot so I walk in there and all their grills were on the ground. They had one called the "rivergrille farmers charcoal grill." Look it up on their website. It has a huge cooking space, it's well made and the display didn't have a lot of spaces in between seams which is great because that means air / smoke won't leak. I have to watch reviews of people that own it before I buy it. Even if it is complete shyt I can still make it work and utilize it for other grilling purposes.
I might hold back. The grill I want which will be the last grill I ever buy will be the weber summit charcoal. It currently sells for 1500 to $2000 and is available by special order, the msrp is $2249.
I did get a nice ass 6lb usda choice cut brisket. I'm a smoke that Monday or Tuesday.

They had a couple of upright barrel smokers and of course the weber smokey mountain.

If your gonna spend that kind of dough have you considered a ceramic cooker like the Big Green Egg?
