AGCxKMT nevermind the typo
we dont wanna be
we too nice
we too nice
No. That is FALSE. Black people don't have the power to be racist. Racism is PREJUDICE + POWER. We can be prejudiced all we want but unless we have the power to act on that prejudice, it ain't racism.
Yep
For example I hate Eskimos with a passion and I will hold them back any chance I get.
To the bolded - CO-SIGN.This topic is stupid. No one agrees on what racism is and has their own idea and or definition
A better question is can black people systematically oppress whites/non blacks in this current climate?
On top of that, I can't even be sure the person I'm talking to on here is even black. Smh
I think people need to just start using the term institutionalized racism and/or white supremacy instead of racism because it leads to confusion. To the bolded - CO-SIGN.
As shown above, the definition of racism in the context of institutions is detailed as well as the definition of racism in the context of individual peer to peer interaction is detailed.
I always felt like this point right here while valid at some level is a deflection/smoke screen argument because it then shifts the talk away from the true issue of white supremacy to some "it takes two to tango" point where the issues that really affect people globally especially blacks. In the context of a person believing one race is superior to another or one race is inferior to another is a form of racism - thus, it is possible for any human being to have racist ideas that affect their actions towards another.
I'm not talking about anyone specific just a general statement in regards to these discussions that take place online. At least in person you can visually see the person but on here or anywhere you can have these discussions go on and on and half the time you're talking to some white dude from Sweden who has never interacted with black people in his life.In regards to you further statement about not being sure of who you're talking to is black...who are you talking about?
Agreed, it is definitely an ignorant piece of ammunition when someone is trying to derail a conversation to get away for the things that are making them feel uncomfortable.I always felt like this point right here while valid at some level is a deflection/smoke screen argument because it then shifts the talk away from the true issue of white supremacy to some "it takes two to tango" point where the issues that really affect people globally especially blacks.
