Think I’m gonna go try to go the Schneider lease choice route this time next year or sign to a company that pays 90% rev and you book your own loads.

Currently during the lease purchase thing at a company that pays by the mile in a band. It’s like 1.24-.94 a mile depending on the loaded miles.+ fsc. Been doing it for a lil under a year.

It’s the company I started my cdl with, been with them 3 years. I just think it’s time to move on to better opportunities. Schneider choice lease looks nice, hoping I can get into on of the companies paying 90% though. Gonna need to bring my own truck and a trlr though. Gonna run hard the rest of the year+ early next year and make the jump. Until then I’m doing a lot of research in preparation for the move. Reading about load boards/ brokers and things like that.

Them t680s look nice as hell.
fukk it. I’m going to Schneider choice in about 2 months. I already spoke with a recruiter and all.

Will lease a truck with Schneider finance. Good thing about that is if I ever leave Schneider, I can take the truck with me as long as I make the payments.

Going with Schneider over a 90% company due to rates being very low and sni has contract freight.

As to why now instead of waiting. I started realizing how shytty this current company lease deal is. Running hard for 2800-3000 miles, making 1800. Less than a company driver when you factor in taxes you have to pay while taking a bigger risk.

Then looking at the contract. You pay for all the fuel, which is understandable. But the company only gives the owner operator a .10 discount at loves/ta/pj. Any other discount over that goes to the carrier as “administrative fees/markup”. I read that and was like
:ohhh::mjcry:

Some of these carriers get .2-.5+ fuel discounts. I’m pretty sure Roehl gets a pretty decent discount past .1. Especially with loves. Since they have a program that gives all Roehl drivers free showers.

I guarantee you that they make hundreds of thousands, if not millions a year off fuel that owner operators pay for.

Got approved thru sfi and sni. Orientation is July 8th. Now gotta decide how to go about turning in my current company’s lease truck.

Think ima hitem up on the 4th like “ I want to turn truck in and quit”.

I will most likely get a rental car to drive to hotel to get ready for orientation with sni.

Also new truck will be a 2020 freightliner. I’ve never driven an automatic so........ need to get familiar with it b4 road test lol.

Other Schneider drivers have been very helpful. They say is possible to take home 3k on a consistent basis if you run the right markets.

Damn 1.@EzekelRAGE making me consider getting my own truck... the 3k a week is after all expenses related to the truck?

2.And then you have to figure out health insurance, retirement plans, and pay self employment tax out of that?
1. Yea. Ppl post their settlements some times. And they legit bringing home 3k. With the gross being 5-6k. That’s with most paying ~1000 truck note weekly and fuel.

Here’s the group: Schneider Owner Operators public group | Facebook

Join up and check it out. When you request to join Tell them you are looking into joining sni’s ic board. They should let you in, it worked for me.

They’ve been very helpful. Will tell you the most profitable place to run. The thing they stress most is erase the mileage mentality out of your head and focus on revenue each day. Revenue, pay rate, and time are important. For example 500 mile load paying 1000 is better than the 1000 mile load paying 1500.

2. Yea.

I’ll be getting a brand new 2020 Cascadia with automatic transmission. Only 1600 down with a 3 year lease. No payment due til the 3rd week of the lease. I’ll be paying 1k a week.

You can go that route but others say it may be better to go to lone mountain or something for a less monthly payment.
