-I went to school for a month
-Some are the same, but alot are different rules on the road. Like for instance you have to go 5 mph less than the speed limit. Also cops look at you as a "professional driver", so if you're cause speeding, moving violation, in an accident, etc. you're gonna have a harder penalty
Plus there's rules on how long you can drive in one day, how much time you can drive consecutively. And you gotta document every time you're not driving
-For practicing, there's hourly lessons that alot of schools give. Would be like 80 an hr though
You can go to a community college that has a 1 month CDL program, and you can possibly get a state grant
or you can go through a company, like Swift, Knight, CRST, and it's basically free. But they'll take out the cost of the school in your check after you're hired with them
Yea I heard they implemented new standards for truck drivers getting more sleep in the wake of all the truck accidents over the years , most notably recent with the Walmart and Tracy Morgan situation.
