GET 1 YEAR UNDER YOUR BELT THEN CONTRACT OVERSEAS. THEY START AT 125K FOR 6 MONTHS. TAKE A 6 MONTH BREAK THEN 25K RAISE EVERY YEAR YOU RETURN. DOWNSIDE IS YOU'RE LOCKED ON A COMPOUND IN THE DAY.
There's oppurtu out there to make 65 g's a year if you have 1 year experience over the road. I'm bout two months in and it's hard being away from my kids and family. I'm in Alabama headed to California, and back in time to go home for Christmas.
Have you considered teams?, make a lot more money.
You getting your Class B or Class A?
Study that Pre-Trip, that's most important IMO
Backing is more of instincts and when to turn left or right, and Road test is all nerves
If you got a Pre-Trip sheet, here's some pointers:
-Learn all the parts that's required. First get someone experienced to tell you what all the parts are. Then what I did is I would read one name of and engine part, and pointed to it. Like "Slack Adjuster", then point to it. Do that for EVERY part. And name all the parts from start to finish at least 3 times in one sitting. After that, your memory of the parts would be smooth as butter
-Practice and go over the In Cab Air Brake Test for the Pre Trip, that's the most important part test takers look for
