How did yall get this to stick to your brain?? A young brother over hear bout ready 2 kick it and toss this book aside
How much money is to be made in this. I was thinking about getting my cdl but I can't be 50k or less out here. I keep hearing shyt like you can make a couple stacks a week if you own your own truck. Any truth to this ?
I work for swift. I just got paid yesterday.
yeaThis for the week?
i dont rememberOne time you said you only got paid $125 for the week ...
Well it takes money to make money. Can you clear a 100 you think ?Kinda. Cuz yes you'll be making good money a week, but remember you own your own truck. You'll be replacing tires a lot which can get expensive, regular truck maintenance, insurance, etc. So you'll be making money, but also spending money.. but you'll be making a lot more than you're spending.
You actually believe this is what's funny
Soon as these "robotic trucks" start causing accidents and killing people, that shyt gonna end quick.
Well it takes money to make money. Can you clear a 100 you think ?
Yes, because human truck drivers don't cause any accidents. I'll trust a computer with passive/active sensors to drive safely over the road before a guy that's been driving for 13 hours straight.
And while I understand the difficulties of having an autonomous vehicle operating in the city etc - at the end of the day it's an issue of computing power and software. All of the technology is available - it's not being implemented bc we haven't yet figured out how to manage the inevitable social/political/economic fallout.
There are literally so many hard turns and tight spots a computer will not be able to handle. There will be situations where your truck won't make the turn and you gotta back out the entire block. Situations where you gotta hit the curb or graze a sign. Situations where you have to get out and shovel ice or dirt under your wheel to get traction cuz your truck got stuck. Situations where it's dark and there's a big pothole up ahead you gotta avoid quickly or you'll mess up the freight in the back. I can keep going.
Apparently these computerized trucks will still have someone behind the wheel. I still don't get how they're going to pay those people and what type of person would take that job, but
