They suck on the dry bulk side, check out Schneider if you want to pull tanks. My buddy I was in CDL school with got on with them and is averaging decent money for a newbie.

I was looking at them the other day...Might give it a month before I call them up. Heard some things about them too. At least Tidewater said in the first year you could make around high 40s. Schneider isn't paying that, but it's an option to get started. Get half a year to a year and get out.

Conductor, basically collecting fares and shyt :francis:

But I'm getting promoted to engineer :blessed: which means I'll be operating the trains. That was my dream job coming up and now I'm finally here :mjcry:

Bruh i been trying to get on with BNSF for years.

I got an interview with Norfolk Southern last year, but it was out of state and i caught the invitation email at the last minute so i just canceled so they wouldnt think i no showed. I honestly just applied for the fukk of it not thinking they would respond, but they did; so im hopeful of my chances with them as soon as i see some openings.

CSX had a alot conductor trainee positions too earlier this year. I should have jumped on it.

I was wondering how the process went for you.

I'm super close to getting on with the post office as a Career employee but the process is taking so-fukking- long, If i can get on in another industry i'll gladly pack up and head to another state. Im trying to hold out for the USPS but cot damn! I passed my exam with a 91, I got the experience but I aint heard shyt since i got my test results back. apparently they're notorious for this shyt. I swear if I see any conductor or city driving jobs, im on that shyt, aint got time to be putting shyt on hold for these postal dikk eaters.

I got my CDL back in 2013. I barely made it out of training with Swift and just quit with probably 2-3 months in. Are we in agreement that regular OTR is for the birds? What are my options.

You got either local or regional breh.

Local you stay in state and maybe part of a neigbor state.

Regional you got a certain area of the country you drive. Like me Im going to drive the Midwest.

Or you could drive for companies like ups,fed ex, city jobs etc.

I got an update and important question for my brehs.

As I said before I went through 160 to get my permit and eventually my licence.

I failed my writtren exam 3 times :snoop:
So I was put on a 30 day hold from testing again. Then got "Diagnosed" :comeon:with "Sleep Apnea" so a sleep lab doctor tells me that I must do a minimum of 22 days and 4 hours a night to get my 1 year medical card.:francis:

Ok no problem im already on a 30 day hold so fukk it.

Just few days ago I get my permit then I go back to BULLshyt "Concentra" medical center and im told I have to have

90 DAYS ON MY CPAP MACHINE TO GET MY ONE YEAR CARD. :stopitslime::gucci::what:

By that time my permit is goona exspire and summer goona be over.:camby:

So is there some where else I can go besides concentra that was my 3rd time going to them and getting only a 3 month card.
I need a year card in order to practice on this range.

Where my illinois brehs at I need yall:to:

Preciate the response. But don't you have to drive a year OTR to be considered locally. My main problems are backing, filling log book, and knowing how to approach lots and shyt. My trainer wasn't the best. Are the standard trucks still 10 speed. Any one of yall driving an automatic. Old timers don't like them but fukk it, it's 2017 and these trucks are advancing.

Just Google DOT physicals in Illinois or Chicago. I usually pass a spot across from Chicago Ridge mall that does it. Also there's a spot on 65th and Cicero that does physicals

Go LTL. fukk that OTR shyt. You get paid by the hour for pickup and deliveries and high mileage pay for linehaul. You will also get yearly raises until you hit your cap which is usually after 3-4 years but will go up for cost of living. Most companies start around $22 and cap out at $28. Plus your work week will be between 40-50 hours. Home every day with earned paid time off and holidays.

Most trucks are auto but the company will still test you in a manual to see how you handle the truck. You can find a local job without OTR experience. XPO in Atlanta is hiring right now.
