They boxed themselves into a corner with the timing of the Rich extension, matching TJ (Micky) and re-signing JJ. J-Rich can't be dealt until next summer so he's off the table and his play as of late would make for the perfect sweetener. Nobody's touching TJ without something attached it looks like and JJ hasn't really played well enough to warrant interest. They took the ensemble approach a little too far, there's too many bodies which is keeping guys from playing their natural position. We're a quarter thru the season with no set lineup, rotation, or identity.
Truth
We see it all the time it take Waiters, Whiteside, JJ having to miss games for other guys to even get meaningful minutes. There two many people who play the same position. Pat felt loyal to what they did last season. I want to no who was we bidding against when we gave JJ & Waiters these deals. Who is taking JJ who at 33 in 2021 is making 15 mil with a cap hit of 16 mil. Honest we should of brought only one of them back not both.
I honest have no clue what this team is we have a lot more size then more teams but we continuously are playing small. We don’t get out and run enough unless it’s Dragic on his one men fast break. We jack up 3s like it’s going out of style but we don’t have the constant shooters to play that way. So we end up looking completely lost on offense and having these long droughts.
I could see a team like New Orleans with there guard play so weak maybe taking TJ other wise I can’t see anyone wanting to take that contract off are hands.
We are a top 4 team in payroll that may not even make the playoffs. This season has been a disaster but no one calls Spo out for his coaching struggles or why he continues to play guys out of position in the media. If he was in NY he would straight up be slaughtered over sportstalk radio and In the news.
