Got hit with a DUI last night. What do I do now?

Bro can you do me a huge solid. Can you try and tell me who you had represent you? Just wanna test things out here. I keep looking up lawyers and reviews and it's so mix and match. Bunch of 5 stars Bing of no stars. Seems like it all depends on their case.

When the tire went flat, she pulled into a parking lot. She needed a way home so she called and got picked up by another friend. Made a dumb choice. Got blacked out drunk last night while I was out, and obviously made the decision to drive home which was about 15 miles away straight shot. Made it 14 miles and hit a curve a few blocks from my crib. Popped my tire. I pulled into a lil shopping center parking lot and tried to sleep it off, but in my drunk stupor, I left my keys in the ignition and was pulled up on by a few cops. I'm certified dumbass.

Apparently, I was 2x over the legal limit. SMFH I could have killed someone. Gotta get my life right again, all this partying I do leads nowhere good time and time again.


Bro's who have caught a DUI, what do I do now? Obviously i want to avoid a major license suspension or having to have a breathalyzer on my car to drive.

Also, will hiring my own lawyer instead of a Public defender even help?

but if the cops find the keys on you

it is a DUI
because having the keys present displays an "Intent" to operate the vehicle intoxicated

i know of 2 people who got dui's because they were sleep in the vehicle with the keys on them or in the vehicle

they cops dont have to prove that you operated the vehicle at all
they can get you in court with the intent and that is still considered a DUI

you literally have to have the keys locked away in the trunk and not be behind the wheel at all

i heard about a nikka who made it home
fell asleep in the car
cops come check on him

give him the breathalyzer
bust him for dui
he lost in court too

and he was in front of his fukking home
if only he woulda got his ass out the car

1. dont even open the car door. if they want to go to the extent of breaking the window they gonna have to do that.
2. refuse the breathylizer
3. dont ever ever ever ever leave keep the keys in the car, if your going to be out here taking DUI chances you gotta be on top of your game

I caught 2 back when I was a dumbass in the army and beat both. Don't blow, get a good lawyer, and go ahead and take driving classes, attend ASAP, get letters of recommendation from community leaders (church, school, etc), and you should go ahead and get about 10 hours of community service done.

You go to court with that, they will either drop the charges, or give you probation with the charges dropped after successful completion.

So what happened?

Funny story. I was crashing out back in those days, just going thru it.

So heres the update from what 8 years ago lol.

Got the DUI, lawyered up and she was weeks from getting it dropped to a public intoxication or obstruction, mainly because the cop had got tied up in something and i technically didnt have probable cause to be checked on. My lawyer had argued that drunk or not, who's to say I drove there drunk. Whos to say my tire wasnt already flat.

Of course in the wild fashion my life was going. Had some baddies call me up to go out a couple weeks before my court date... I had a couple drinks. Didn't get drunk, and stopped drinking about an hr before heading home. I somehow managed to park the wrong direction on a one way. I started my car and get hit up again

Cop was like you know have to park the right direction on a one way. U been drinking? I pointed out to him all the cars where parked the same way I was. He asked for a breathalyzer and I told him no and refused a sobriety test so I got booked a 2nd time like 4 months after the first time.

Now I was in some shyt cuz I still hadnt closed the first case . They had the judge provide a search warrant for my blood. And I was at a .02 blood alc level. So I wasn't drunk. My lawyer got me off pretty light on technicalities: 1st tine I was drunk but not driving (at least no proof I was), 2nd time was driving but not drunk.

Lost a shyt load of money, had to have a breathalyzer in my car for a year, and probation for a year.

shyt was trash but learned my lesson. Life changing experience really. In a span of 4 months life got really hard quick.

On the bright side, I was still in college and on the presidents list and was making a 3.9 GPA so my PO really laid off me the last half of probation.

Needless to say that was my 3rd and last tine getting arrested
