Also gringos in South Africa, Australia, many parts of South America and India managed just fine. Berbers do fine in Senegal. Indians are fine in Trinidad. There are tons of example of privileged elites. Anglo-Saxons in America is another one.
GERMANY
Under the
Weimar Republic, 1919–1933, German Jews played a major role in politics and diplomacy for the first time in their history, and they strengthened their position in financial, economic, and cultural affairs.
[52][53] Hugo Preuß was Interior Minister under the first post-imperial regime and wrote the first draft of the liberal
Weimar Constitution.
[54] Walther Rathenau, the chairman of General Electric (AEG) and head of the
German Democratic Party (DDP), served as foreign minister in 1922, when he negotiated the important
Treaty of Rapallo. He was assassinated two months later.
[55]
Already by 1914, the Jews were well represented among the wealthy,
including 24 percent of the richest men in Prussia, and eight percent of the university students.

The relatively
small Jewish community was based in Paris, and very well established in the city's business, financial, and intellectual elite. A third of Parisian bankers were Jewish, led by the Rothschild family, which also played a dominant role in the well organized Jewish community. Many of the most influential
French intellectuals were nominally Jewish, including Henri Bergson, Lucien Lévy-Bruhl and Emile Durkheim. The Dreyfus affair to some degree rekindled their sense of being Jewish.
[55] Jews were prominent in art and culture, typified by such artists as
Modigliani,
Soutine, and
Chagall. The Jews considered themselves fully assimilated into French culture, for them Judaism was entirely a matter of religious belief, with minimal ethnic or cultural dimensions.
