Online retail giant Amazon (AMZN) currently lists a Google-powered Chromebook built by Samsung (005930) as the best-selling laptop on its website. To make things even more interesting, Amazon’s own stock of the $250 Chromebook is sold out but it remains a top-seller even though it is now being sold at a 30% premium by other vendors through the Amazon website.

Dev Channel Update for Chrome OS
The Dev channel has been updated to 26.0.1410.12 (Platform version: 3701.23.0) for all Chrome OS devices except CR-48. In addition to increased stability, this build also has some notable improvements.

Updated Pepper Flash to 11.6.602.171
Known Issues:
Hangout is not working on the new Samsung Chromebook (fix coming soon).

With the new Pixel coming out, I see a lot of discussion on how Chromebooks aren't for serious computing and are mostly for grandma's and email. One area that's been overlooked has been health care. When I was recently looking for a new treatment room computer, I realized that all my office software is now web based and that I was no longer tied down to Windows. So I gave the Chromebook a try, it was inexpensive, low maintenance and would run my web-based electronic health record program just fine. Well I've been so happy with it, I now want to replace all my computers with Chromebooks and boxes. I'm sure I can't be the only type of small business that these would appeal to. And as for the Pixel, sure its expensive, but I'd buy it before I bought another Windows machine, or Apple for that matter. You have to look at the costs that occur down the line.
