unpopular opinion probably, but liotta was corny as fukk in goodfellas and i could never put it over casino. i get that his character was a punk compared to deniro's and pesci's, but i dont know :dead: to me its an easy choice

...but liotta was corny as fukk in goodfellas...

my dude!

agreed 1000% plus he had a deadeye laugh throughout the entire movie...like he would be laughing physically but his eyes would just stay still...like I know it’s acting but you could tell it was fake as hell...a very small thing but that shyt was disconcerting for me during the entire movie...not a reflection of the movie as a whole but ray liotta wasn’t the best actor for that part imo

Brehs blaspheming saying the cocaine paranoia scene was trash. That shyt was damn near perfect. Especially when you sit down and think that he had a somewhat busy day, but anybody not coked out of their fukking mind would've been able to manage it easily. And the fact that he snitches is in perfect line with who Henry Hill established himself as as a character/person. He never said he truly believed in the way of life just that he wanted to live it, and be "somebody" when that shyt dried up, and it was clear that he was a loose end that was going to get tied up sooner or later, he went and found his next best option. Essentially he said "fukk you, pay me" to his old squad the only way he could think of.

But on the actual point, I think I like Casino better overall. Goodfellas romanticized the mob to a crazy point, since it's told from the viewpoint of a low level guy who was basically just a fan of the life. Other than a couple of scenes, they don't really explain how the fukk any of these guys were really balling out like that. Casino let you know that that shyt wasn't just a lifestyle, it was a BUSINESS. It made Nicky being a loose cannon make more sense, and it made the string of killings at the end even more logical. You know that all of this is shytty, but even the most moral person can objectively look at it and say that it makes perfect sense as to why it would happen. It also wins for flipping Pesci's death scene by basically making it a new version of his death in Goodfellas (it's basically the same premise of being lured out on business and then murked), but having the twist of him narrating that shyt, and abruptly cutting it when they hit him with the bat. Both are two of my favorite movies, though.

:mjlol: Pesci is the GOAT..

"A lot of holes in the desert, and a lot of problems are buried in those holes. But you gotta do it right. I mean, you gotta have the hole already dug before you show up with a package in the trunk. Otherwise, you're talking about a half-hour to forty-five minutes worth of digging. And who knows who's gonna come along in that time? Pretty soon, you gotta dig a few more holes. You could be there all fukkin' night."

See what you did there, you nailed his character. This is the same dude who ratted out the only guy who still gave him money to save his ass even after he defied him and went against his orders. Stabbed him in the heart so to speak.

Tommy breaks him down in the "How am I funny" scene. Questioning his loyalty in the process.

He wasn't genuine, he wasn't a real wise guy but someone who would, when it came down to it, would rat out his boss. Paulie should've had him wacked sooner, Henry was just smart enough to realize Jimmy was gonna wack him when he wanted him to go to Florida so he made the move first.

But on the real, Liottas voice during the narration is memorable, he has a voice that fit the film perfect, he was just right for the role. Yall tripping.

possibly...I just think ray liotta sucked tho...I don’t think his method acting is that deep to pull off what you’re trying to say...his acting was just flat imo
