I read the book this was based off of last summer. That scene w Ciro drinking the piss is right from the book. Savistano actually made a guy do that.

:picard:

I've been looking for an audiobook stream (for the free) for a minute...much easier for me to listen while driving than make the time to read. I need to find this and Zero Zero Zero on audiobook. If anyone has a link lmk

I'd be so happy for just season 3 on Netflix, I want to watch right way, with no links and downloads, I am doubting whether it will ever happen.

I hated Genny's character prior to his Honduras transformation...now he's one of my favs besides my all-time favorite habitual line-stepper Ciro di Marzio...'the earthquake is God's will...it's good for the ground' is one of my favorite scenes of the the entire show....loaded with meaning and interpretation. I take it as basically when something bad happens to shake up those in control it's an opportunity for those at the bottom to come up...not to mention the earthquake in 1980's IRL is what helped propel The Camorra into legit gov't contracts to rebuild the city.

I was under the impression that he's more of less placing Patrizia as his figurehead in Secondigliano...he's tired of wars and doesn't want to keep his family in that shyt hole in the line of fire...he trust her enough to run it and he will collect his share and she gets the keep the rest with a lot of autonomy as long as they're buying from Genny there should be no problem. I can see Patrizia dealing w/ ppl not respecting her b/c she's a woman (the Levante Don even mentioned she should stay in her place as a woman) and requiring Genny to return to consolidate power and order...somehow Genny will end up getting sucked back into Scampia/Secondigliano...it's just his cursed destiny. I can also foresee some sort of affair happening with that ambitious hustler girl that was educated in London to work on their airport project. Her and Genny shared a couple extended stares and I can see her getting into the mix and fukking up Genny's family life

I knew Ciro's Earthquake line was similar to Littlefinger's "Chaos is a ladder". :wow: I didn't know about the Camorra benefiting from an actual earthquake though.

Yeah, you right. Before this whole thing started I was pretty sure Blue Blood and his gang would be the agitators (mainly Valerio) to whatever pulls Genny back into the shyt but I can easily see things getting rough under Patrizia (Secondigliano homie with the ponytail looks like a problem too) and Don Levante who was pretty much brought in to give Patrizia clout is probably gonna be all :camby: "Should have never put a bytch in charge!".

The minute I saw Tiziana (hustler broad you mentioned) I felt uneasy. I actually like Genny and Azurra as a couple and I was hoping they would be a team like Imma and Pietro were but in the trailer I see that Azurra attacks him and I'd hate for the cause of that is Genny being unfaithful. :mjcry:

The Camorra as you know has been around for hundreds (some say thousands) of years doing extortion, gambling (the name Camorra is derived as some sort of mingling of the words Capo (boss) and morra (some sort of gambling game) so basically Camorra=boss of gambling) and big into illegal cigarettes trade, then eventually drugs. They learned a lot from the Sicilian Cosa Nostra about getting into legit enterprises to wash their money and extend their political influence....then the earthquake happened providing an opportunity to obtain billions in gov't contracts to reconstruct the city.

Then they got more into Waste Management, particularly illegal dumping. If you haven't seen the actual movie Gomorrah I highly suggest it. There's also the Gomorra book by Roberto Saviano, who if you haven't read anything by him he's an excellent writer with a distinct style who's probably the foremost expert on modern organized crime.

You have a point with Blue Blood b/c when him and Genny were on that small boat where Ciro was killed Genny says something like "I swear in front of my brother that I will not not forget what you made me do on that boat that night". At some point Genny will seek revenge somehow
