Vegeta really got 2 Ws there. Made Frieza literally bow down, got a job offer, and made his Saiyan subject, the son of Bardock, do his bidding.

...that's my exact point. He's the prince of all saiyans because his tribe is no more. If they repopulate or wish them back, then he'd be King Vegeta II.

Unearned? Gohan is basically spent an entire series getting his ass beat and training until the cell saga. He pulled the z sword from the stone and trained with it before the elder kai gave him a boost, so no he earned it.
