Just got seated with my wine in hand. Lets see if this was worth it but based on yall comments im going in with zero expectations
I don't know about y'all but to me this was very entertaining. I really liked it. I'll give it a good 7/10. It probably helped that I had zero expectations.

Denzel's role was great.
The way he played those roman cacs and I finally realized he was the ultimate boss all along :wow:

I never seen the og in theaters

I’m surprised they didn’t bring it back for a limited run since the sequel was dropping

If they did I missed it

Never saw it. Odd blind spot in my movie history. Ancient Europe shyt does nothing for me and I didn't wanna watch it on TV with commercials because I knew it was heat. First time ever yesterday. Immediately made my top 100 list of all time at like #24

shyt was alright

i've never seen a movie literally jump the shark before :mjlol: how the fukk would they have turned the coliseum into a seaworld? dumbest shyt ive seen in a while
They actually did mock naval battles historically, but obviously they didn't have sharks. I don't think you can capture sharks without killing them because they have to stay moving to breath. I heard they may have used gators though.

For the mock naval battles they have specially designed ships with flat bottoms and they did flood the arena

I should have walked out after they brought sharks and water to the coliseum :what:

How would you even transport sharks back then.

That Thunderbolt movie looks terrible btw
The history shows that there were indeed ship battle games done in coliseum, with water in there.

But these idiots brought the fukking sharks in.

Damn near 40 years since Jaws debute and movies still use sharks like they are supposed to scare the audience. Even if it makes no fukking sense.

It felt like watching Serious Sam video game with bunch of ancient levels and enemy monsters.

shyt, might as well make the movie about it. A movie hero fighting monsters in ancient civilizations :mjlol: would gladly watch it.
