Some moments of greatness, but could’ve done without it. Had my girl Connie moving so silly in this and I don’t know how to feel about that.

it was okay. denzel was good but him getting legit supporting oscar performance buzz is a bit laughable. they cant control themselves whenever he plays a villain.

People talking about “We’ve never seen Denzel in anything like this before!” like he wasn’t on similar schemin’ time in Joel Coen’s Macbeth (which was a way better performance, IMO).

shyt was legitimately bad. what were they thinking with the CGI baboon dogs.. especially as the first colisseum fight. it had no weight and made me lose interest in the following battles. total snoozefest. some of the kills were fun, that's all I can give it.

Thats based on history. They werent bringing great whites in lol (i havent seen the film) but they 100% filled the colesium with water and had naval battles in front of a crowd way way way back then.

Actually just read that they did bring in ORCAS. lmao. No sharks tho.

The CGI didn’t mesh with the rest of the film at all. Sharks looked like the ones I’d see on one of those whacky SyFy Original Movies. It’s already wild as fukk that the coliseum is filled with water, but let’s add sharks too.

That was some Bond villain type shyt with the overkill.

Having Mescal, who I really like as an actor, go one-on-one with a deranged, CGI monkey. It’s like they set up homie to fail in some of the scenes here.
