shyt was ok... granted i'm not familiar with the GI Joe mytho like that, but the main problem with the movie to me was that most of the character portrayals, except for rock/channing early on and bruce in spurts, were pretty bland if not straight up lame. like a buncha them just seemed dressed up with no where to go.
i didn't go in expecting much sense or reason with the main plot so thats whatever, but i just didn't care much for any of the characters or what was going on except for in the beginning and during the mountain top fight sequence.
-Flynn, dude was pointless. he was just there to give duke a reason to die and after that, he's just kinda there. nothing entertaining about him, no reason to give a fukk about him.
-lady jaye was cast as the bad bytch who'd typically have the sexual tension thing with one or both of the male leads as a subplot.. except duke died and roadblock was cast as taken/with kids, so they had to settle for flynn.. and then its like they realized right away that no one would care for that or the generic daddy's girl issue... so they tried to salvaged it with the bruce willis stuff.
-jinx was bad bytch #2 but after the mountain top fight scene she was bascally just a background character that didn't have anything to do or say.
-snake eyes/storm shadow served their purpose with the fight scenes, and yea they're not supposed to talk anyway.

so i do see why audiences in the 1st screening a year back said that they wanted more rock/channing scenes... they did have the best chemistry by far and after duke died there was no more character growth or exploration for roadblock. why wasn't he taking promotions? who was lookin after his kids the whole time? where's the baby momma and if she's gone then shiiiit why aint he tryna tap lady jaye?

This movie made less opening weekend than the original, which also didn't open on Easter weekend. Channing Tatum is a bigger box office draw than Dwayne, which is also proven.

I've looked deeply into this (and spent probably way too much time) and the comparison of black movies ratings and white movies is astounding

thats not why they did it, they raised the price to garuntee that they would turn a good profit from the bad word of mouth from the first movie. the movie opened well but 3d played a huge part in it. im not saying rock is not a draw, but its a combination of 3d, a huge intellectual property like G.I. Joe and the rock, bruce willis
they did everything they could to try to improve upon the first movie while turning some kind of profit
