I have to admit I was really excited for this game the only part I was skeptical about was when they announce you only have one weapon, Jin’s katana.

I was like :patrice:

But after putting some hours into the game. I was tripping:martin:...this katana and all of the stances plus the extra moves is so layered and deep. In addition to all the combinations you can chain together, they really excelled with the combat in the game.
The combat is so damn fluid. I love it. The standoffs to start each encounter never get old.

The Ronin armor is nice and has the most colors :wow:
The black Sakai Armor is piff but the white version is crack. Especially when you start chopping down those Mongols :demonic:.

No upgrades, hard mode and play using one hand @Mowgli ?
I havnt even purchased this game.

I havnt heard one person say it requires skill so it's looking like a bargain bin purchase unless someone can tell me that the harder difficulties require true skill

Yeah, true indeed. I just finished the side missions that lead to getting
The Heavenly Strike. The multiple parts of it were all pretty cool and the boss fight was very cinematically done and was dope and challenging fight with a great climax and payoff for doing the mission. The move itself can be used to cancel out out of pretty much all your other attacks, regardless of stance.
. And to think that it's just an optional one at that. This game had exceeded my expectations very early. I'm still in act 1.
Yeah I like to use it to counter their unblockable attacks then transition into a flurry.

I’m not surprised at this response :wow:.

I do think overall this game is kind of easy. I’m playing n hard and just steamrolling camp after camp. Stealth feels like I’m cheating myself out of a game experience because the AI is so brain dead.

They really need to fix the difficulty in the sequel because they give you such much OP skills and weapons that you don’t even need to use the sword and most of them you get really early.

For ex. The poison wind chime, you can literally just keep throwing them and once an enemy checks it they die. Throw another one, rinse and repeat. Just a little ninja tool like that is so broken.

They make you powerful in the game which feels nice but dont scale the enemies up to give you enough of a challenge

To be fair, you're overleveled as fukk the way they roll things out

there's NO way you should have the majority of the skill tree done before ending Act 1 :yeshrug: the balance of progression was pretty bad

I remember the first time after the intro that I rolled up on some Mongols - they beat my face in, stomped me out, and weren't there when I came back lookin for the rematch :mjcry:

fast forward a few hours and I'm really spending more time on deciding HOW I want to kill people more than anything else

The gameplay looks flashy but the one hit kills and all that give me casual vibes.

Correct me if I'm wrong

Somebody!

The combat is mostly about timing and parrying, casual would be closer to hack n slash. This at least takes SOME finesse, but it’s still pretty easy in the end. If you’re looking for sekiro/nioh vibes you’re gonna be disappointed

Yeah, i think thats how i feel. It’s still a fun game, don’t get me wrong. This still might be runner up for my GOTY (cyberpunk is taking it realistically) but after act 1 you’re pretty much THE GHOST. They really just needed to spread out some of the more powerful armors and skills to the later acts. By the time you get the samurai clan armor (which is like the 3rd armor in the game) and a couple of ninja skills it’s a wrap.

I love this game but there’s a lot they can do to innovate and make it more of a challenge if they do a sequel.

Another ex. The upgraded Kunai. You can end up throwing up to 4 kunai at once, and you can 4 sets of them. If you have the serrated kunai they are pretty much instant kills. Which means you can run through like 16 dudes in seconds with just that one tool.

I think many of the enemies meant to match those skills and abilities don't appear until much later in the game.

Like I don't even understand why Concentration or the arrow bullet time thing exists. IF its gonna be a thing at all, it should be primarily for shooting eagles. Not mapping tower guards from 300m out

I always found one hit kills to be more realistic and immersive. This is a game but it's also a story.
Imagine watching John Wick and instead of people dropping from headshots, he has to put 5 or 6 into them and dodge return fire from people with bullet holes in their face. That kind of system always ruins the immersion for me. I don't like to play like mortal Kombat, i like for my sword to feel as lethal and deadly as a real one.
