Happens all the time. The type of land you buy is where issues arise.
See? What does this mean? Please explain.

These are the types of conversations we should be having, not this "let's all go to the motherland and if you don't, you a hating ass hater who hate Africans" mess.

With that said, land rights and infrastructure are the only two major issues with anywhere in Ghana. I think any important step like this has to go hand in hand with improving the lives of people on the ground. If you get a huge influx of Diasporans it could cause conflict when the locals still haven’t been accounted for.
Thanks. Funny how when i say it, everybody wanna argue.

there was a doc about AfAm’s moving to SA but their only intentions were of a capitalistic nature. Not really entrenching themselves in the culture of the country and that part is what I don’t want to see come from this. If it is, you’re no different than these vulture whites and Chinese
Oh, so we're NOT expected to perform capitalism like everybody else? I thought that was a selling point. :jbhmm:

No nikka. Their only intention (stated at that) was to maximize their profits since it was an untapped market. One sista even says she plays up the whole slave trade. Wish I could find it. I know someone posted it in my thread when I moved to SA.

:patrice: Uh, no disrespect but that's the exact same thing the most vocal Africans tell us here. They came to do capitalism, with the specific intent of not involving themselves in our struggles.

So AAs in Africa are expected to operate differently? They want capitalists to bring their capital, but not to perform capitalism?:jbhmm:

Don't get all touchy, im legit trying to understand the true terms of this 'deal.'

If your goal is to move and setup a new life, cool. But don’t move their for the sole intent to exploit is where I’m getting at. Black churches are in on the Diaspora hustle as well Umar tried the same thing when I lived there

Exactly. If we all left America wouldn't be able to function. Why would they allow that? Just playing Devil's Advocate.

I honestly believe things would get very nasty if we all decided to go.
you cant stop anyone from emigrating. did the british stop anyone from leaving back in the 1700s? of course not.

as for people scared to leave.

kinda funny considering the chinese seem to be having a pretty easy time, even building their own restaurants, but you scared and worried. hmmm. and these people are the same skin color as you.

Do y'all really think that if black people collectively, say maybe 80 to 90% decided to just move to Ghana that America would allow it? You know how much money they make off of us here?
But the money you would make there would pale in comparison. Take for instance, retail. I know in SA you can go to a Pick n Pay and just see workers standing around. Those companies are incentivized to hire folks just to keep unemployment numbers down. The unemployment is still ridiculously high. Service jobs are mostly staffed by those who’ve immigrated south for a better standard of living but they’re treated absolutely terrible by their employers. Some are lucky if they’re paid at all. I’m just using South Africa as an example in all of this. Remember, well over a quarter of folks who live in the southern region of the continent are living off less than $2 /day

You implying my thoughts about the whole thing comes from a place of fear? I'm just playing Devil's Advocate with the topic at hand (like I already stated). Don't get it twisted.
