Yup. Canelo will be too fast and too smart for him. The handspeed/upperbody movement difference here is huuuugggee, footspeed if probably comparable but aside from power I don't see any advantages here for ggg. His jab is good but slow and we've seen Canelo slip/take away Cotto's jab who I would rank over ggg's.

I don't even think the pace stuff will be a problem anymore this nikka was standing in between rounds while bashing Chavez Jr head in. I don't see that being a problem for him anymore now that he is officially at 160.

All he needs is the flattop :flabbynsick:

Canelo UD
I told myself I would never again flattop a pic for you nikkas because its disrespectful to my HW GOAT...

Forgive me Larry for giving into temptation...:mjcry:

I feel the same way. I see another canelo/cotto type fight
I expect it to look a little similar to oscar/floyd at the start. then mosley-margarito at the finish. little g will start the fight trying to get his jab going to disrupt canelo's speed. he might have some small success early, but he's simply not as skilled as delahoya and canelo will start timing him quickly. you'll see canelo coming over his jab with a jab of his own...coming back with right hands and left hooks. the counter punching will cause little g to eventually abandon the jab altogether. and that's when canelo will really take over and start to break him down. little g will be the smaller man in that ring and he's not gonna be able to bully canelo at all. he's gonna break little g down the same way spence did brook....the same way mosley did margarito. by accuracy and sharpness. once you see little g going backwards, the fight is over. that's when you'll know he's really being hurt and he has no more answers. he's gonna show a lot of pride and he'll take canelo's bombs for a good while. but there will be a point in the fight where his will is gonna be broken. and it won't just be because of the beating he's taking, but because he's gonna realize that he doesn't have the skillset to overcome what's happening. and that's something he's never had to deal with.

I only have one concern in this fight and it has nothing to do with little g. it's only about canelo's stamina. if canelo's stamina gives out, anything can happen. but his stamina has looked really good in his last two fights and I expect it to be great in this one. especially on a 4 month layoff and the fact that he's already started mild training. which means he's not gonna let himself get too heavy during his time off. this fight will take canelo to another level.

The aura of this fight reminds me so much of the lead up to Tito vs BHop. The Young bull against the "aged" Veteran. Tito KO'ing Joppy and BHop not looking "great" against Holmes. The media, the fans, even some of the hardcore fans not giving BHop any chance. The fight to make Tito "A Legend". Then the bell rings...:francis: Tito finds out what it is to fight a skilled Middleweight with Middleweight experience. In this case with Canelo vs GGG, I see Canelo coming in having these dominant performances against Khan, Liam Smith, Chavez Jr where he looks like a Million Bucks but the substance of the opponents are :francis: . GGG on the other hand while isn't fighting "Names" has been fighting top ranked Middleweights on a more consistent basis and is coming off fighting the #1 ranked guy under him. While Canelo has finally moved up to 160 (a bit over due) I don't feel he's really acclimated himself to the weight in the sense of fighting other top level Middleweights before fighting the #1 in the Division (ala fighting a David Lemieux as prep leading into a GGG fight instead of Chavez Jr). I think people are HEAVILY over looking how undersized Canelo's gonna be against someone who is not just a big puncher but also a very experienced fighter dating back to his AM days. The experience that Canelo has over GGG is fighting under the "big lights". If Canelo was someone who had really good movement, could clinch, more authoritative jab than GGG, and was evenly sized or bigger I'd actually pick Canelo (who I admit has a bit of a speed advantage). But the more I look at this fight I see GGG dominating him with the jab which is gonna throw off a lot of Canelo's timing when he tries countering. I think the pace will be an issue too as we ALL know Canelo's gas tank isn't the greatest. I think Canelo's gonna look good early, landing some pretty looking combos but I think as the fight progresses he's gonna start to feel the brunt of the punishment and doesn't have the mobility needed to evade GGG's consistency. I think Nelo gets stopped in 9-10 rounds. Good Big Man Beats Good Little Man scenario.

Gennady's stamina isn't exactly African marathon runner status either though. Every fight I watch of him going to his corner he looks like needs an albuterol inhaler. If he takes any fair amount of body work from Canelo he's going to be in for a rough night at the three quarter mark.
