The dad was also hilarious the funniest moment is when he points dude out to his friends at the party.Lil Rel is literally the only comedic element of the movie. Whypeepull just have no shame.

And it's not about being "upset". It's just acknowledging how white people are relentless with their bullshyt. They're clearly categorizing this as a comedy as a way to dismiss the messages and commentary. The movie is very deep and layered. To label it a comedy is to belittle it.
here is my thing tho
When did comedy = devaluing the seriousness?
Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock been doing comedy on societal ills and racism for years. Just because its funny don't mean it's devalued. If anything, thats on you for not taking comedy serious.
Truth hurts
I am not denying that.Oh it's not, but even Chappelle said he didn't think many whites got the satire. They tend to laugh at the surface level stuff and ignore the message.
"Get Out" was way more a "Suspense Thriller" or "Drama' than "Comedy". Please. These awards shows are pathetic. Stop acting like "Get Out" can't compete with all the best film this year in Drama. I've always said Awards shows categories are too limited anyway. There was nothing 'Comical" about "Get Out". The film was a nightmare. Very Hitchcockian and Kubrician.
At least one Twitter user regarded the placement of the social thriller as a "slap in the face to black people." The placement of the film, however, was reportedly a strategic move by Universal. Since the film can also be regarded as a social satire, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association gave the film's placement as a comedy their approval, which reportedly gave "Get Out" a better chance of being nominated and possibly winning.

A source close to the Globes says Blumhouse, which produced the film, entered it for consideration as a comedy.
The move probably allows Get Out more wiggle room when it comes to landing an above-the-line nomination for its key player, star Daniel Kaluuya, who will now likely square off against potential comedy/musical foes like Hugh Jackman (The Greatest Showman), Kumail Nanjiani (The Big Sick), James Franco (The Disaster Artist), Matt Damon (Downsizing), and Steve Carell (Battle of the Sexes).
