I didn't follow this too closely, but I thought it was obvious that she'd win since the Dem didn't get 50% when there were a lot of conservatives splitting the vote. So, I start seeing all the hype and figure there must be soemthing going on I didn't know about. This is the 3rd longshot special election where CNN plays "election returns" games and pretends the race is closer than it really is to keep people watching.

Then magically at the end of the night the race opens up to where it should be.

The reason I mention this is, today at lunch I heard a Dem congressman interviewed he phrased soemthing awkwardly that told me he expected the Dem to lose by 5%. :patrice:

I see the election results at 5.4% right now :why:

I think they all knew the final results just hyped this up for clicks :what:

lets hope that one day the bernie bros realize a dem winning only helps them because the climate will be more open to their own ideas
nope. they went at warren for getting too much clout.

Big Wall Street donors have a message for Hillary Clinton: Keep Elizabeth Warren off the ticket or risk losing millions of dollars in contributions

“If Clinton picked Warren, her whole base on Wall Street would leave her,” said one top Democratic donor who has helped raise millions for Clinton. “They would literally just say, ‘We have no qualms with you moving left, we understand all the things you’ve had to do because of Bernie Sanders, but if you are going there with Warren, we just can’t trust you, you’ve killed it.’
Wall Street donors seek to block Warren VP pick

WALL STREET DONORS have used their financial relationship with the Democratic Party to complain bitterly about Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s, D-Mass., influence over the direction of the party
, a new fundraising document reveals. At one point, the Democratic lawmaker in charge of raising cash for House Democrats attempted to reassure donors by pointing to a news story claiming that Warren does not speak for the party.

Like Goldman Sachs, SIFMA lobbyists complained about Warren’s influence. In response, Luján referenced a news article about House Democratic Leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi, declaring that Warren did not speak on behalf of the party — something the financial industry lobbyists saw as “an encouraging sign.” But the lobbyists warned that the attacks on the financial sector were creating “a larger problem when people don’t trust banks and financial institutions.”

I swear, y'all don't know shyt. This woman was on stage talking about how she doesn't support a living wage and still managed to win. That should tell you something about the voting base there. And why those ideas would not bring them around to voting for a Bernie-esque progressive candidate.
RIGHT!!!

This woman straight up told a lesbian "I don't respect you or your right to adopt" and bounced :laff:

What I find funny is how the appeal must be to suburban Republicans and never turning out your base and getting folks that don't bother voting to vote. It's like the debate is always between those you can expect to vote. Apathy towards politics is strong, folks. I mean I'm sure the base was engaged but folks that just say fukk it need to be tapped into.

Anybody got the turnout numbers for this election?
THERE IS NO LEFTWING BASE IN GA06.

Jesus. fukking. Christ. You (bernicrats) people don't fukking listen.

Georgia had a scholarship program for many students that provided tuition free college

Initiated by a popular Dem governor

Stick to the Northeast Corridor. You're in DC. Stop fronting like you understand the facts on the ground in the south.

So why put $23mm in his campaign?

Democrooks have cognitive dissonance like a mothAfukka
because his opponent was spending just as much and the results were close. :yeshrug:

They wanted to make a statement. In some ways they did.

You all. Complain about democrats not fighting republicans just as hard as republicans fight then when they do you're critical of it.

that's corny to me.
