You have a better chance surviving shots to center mass (which anyone with any firearms training will tell you is target to aim for in a lethal encounter) than surviving shots to the leg. A shot to the femoral artery will cause you to bleed out well before any aid can be rendered. Not one person -- cop or not -- that isn't interested in flirting with death is going take a gamble on a moving limb as opposed to the huge, massive target barreling towards them with a knife & deadly intent. Human beings aren't T1000's.

Shooting a moving leg while a knife is slashing at you and adrenaline is pumping is talent that only a special forces or tier 1 trained person can do consistently.

I don’t approve police use of force a lot of times, but anybody with a decent amount of firearms training and experience in life or death situations would laugh at what yall saying. And it’s still fukk the police, just not this one.

If I was the person with the knife in that situation that officer would be dead and I’d be running off with his gun. He’s lucky she was uncoordinated

Exactly, at the range she was at I *HYPOTHETICALLY* wouldve given dude 2 pokes in the jugular or stab into the neck and drag across the throat, instantly open up the wound and thats officer down.

Officer got slashed in the face and she kept coming, he showed incredible restraint and I wish all cops had his level of professionalism.

She was so gone she wasnt even fazed until the 5th shot, bipolar episodes are a muthafukka

Cops are supposed to be well trained
fukk is the point of non-lethal weapons if they can't deploy em to subdue a perp?
They knew what they were walking into when they got the call

Anyone saying “use the taser” may not have seen one deployed, or didn’t watch the video.

A knife can get you close range (like how she slashed him partially out the door when he was in knocking range) and a taser deployed that close would be relatively ineffective/inaccurate.

If he would’ve knocked and dropped 10 feet back (nearly impossible in that corridor) a taser would’ve been ok, but he was a foot away and she opened the door pretty quickly.

Sad all around. It seems like the likeliest outcome of this situation was that someone was going to lose their life. RIP to her, if she had demons, at least she’s not living with that reality anymore
