So I saw this before I came on the coli today and there is more footage.... the vid I saw on youtube shows the cops knocking first and the lady opens the door and sees them and quickly shuts its while saying "leave me alone"

Then there's like some type of cut (iirc). And then she opens the door swinging the knife. I'm gonna find this and post it because there's no reason not to post the full interaction

This isnt the initial video I saw. But it actually confirms what I said about there being a cut in the footage. What was said in the 10mins before she came back out swining? She was obviously bothered by the cops being there. Did they continue to knock on her door and press her before she came out with the knife?





How much power/authority do cops performing a wellness check actually have? She opened the door and confirmed she was alive. And told them she didn't want to talk to them.

I don't know how you jumped to that but I can sort of answer working 911

Whether it's being short staffed or other stuff, officers do sometimes go alone in these situations. You ask if they want backup and in the case of mental subjects, they should have one. But often times if it's just one female they feel they can handle it vs a man, group of people, etc. It also depends on what other calls officers were currently on that could've been check ins, what exactly was told to the operator by the caller ("she's got a knife" well how long ago did she have it, was she threatening with it, if they're at home anybody technically has a knife, you need more info. That's why you're asked a million questions if you ever need to call) rules of the county, etc. Officers and 911 centers get punished if calls aren't responded to in the time allowed for each specific reason

You can't ever call somebody coming out slashing you and he didn't have enough time to call for backup trying to deescalate, waiting for backup and tazing her probably means he's dead anyway. He did his job and was more than generous so it didn't need to be him going. He could've put her down right after he got slashed and been 100% in the right without all the yelling

Most Black peoe have mental issue growing up here. We carry a heavy mental load in this country, we try to ignore it and move like it's all good but it's not. Even me, in my 40s now, done well for myself, never been in trouble, I still find myself on edge at times. With the right potion of chaos and drama, one more negative thing could easily trigger you to go bizerk.

We have to seek help and learn how steer away instead of continuing down that dark path. Sadly our music and culture promotes crashing out.

What I have noticed is, unfortunately, some of them go into the mental health field with the idea that they figure out how to treat their own mental issues. So they are not well themselves, and offering up advice on how to resolve it when they themselves are not able to resolve their own issues.

Why couldn’t the cop shoot her in the leg? She clearly had mental issues. Aren’t cops trained to deal with shyt like this?
