It wasn't very good police work. Cop should've been more aware of his surroundings, especially with no back up. If he hadn't backed himself into a dead end, he would've had more time to consider non lethal options. He put himself in danger and had to use lethal means to get himself out of it.

Yeahhhh this is not what you really need to do if you are in law enforcement .

As folks pointed out, dude was almost a goner and shooting a leg or blasting a taser wasn't going to stop a person driven off of insanity. Heads don't know that once a person is gone, its either life or death. The moment she grabbed the knife it was like the death angel granted the wish.

What I have noticed is, unfortunately, some of them go into the mental health field with the idea that they figure out how to treat their own mental issues. So they are not well themselves, and offering up advice on how to resolve it when they themselves are not able to resolve their own issues.

My family's therapist has traits of issues going on with herself, to the point where she even admitted to trying to not have the burden of somebody else's problems but it's hard.

Hell, I remember this one lady that tried to evaluate me into the mental institution talking about how she lost her husband and son, but decided to work her way up in the mental health industry and "look at me now " like WTF .

How can a insane person, seek help from a mentally disturbed person? I honestly feel that we are all ticking time bombs waiting to detonate, thus why mental health awareness is a mess and a half, because we are all crazy in our own way.

Does mental illness let you walk through bullets? She took about 3 shots and was still coming forward like the terminator. She was clearly on some type of drugs to not feel those shots.

And that's what makes the situation that much scary...

This isnt the initial video I saw. But it actually confirms what I said about there being a cut in the footage. What was said in the 10mins before she came back out swining? She was obviously bothered by the cops being there. Did they continue to knock on her door and press her before she came out with the knife?





How much power/authority do cops performing a wellness check actually have? She opened the door and confirmed she was alive. And told them she didn't want to talk to them.

If you don't want to talk to the cops, don't open the door, or in this case come back out swinging a knife.

Edit: I replied to this before watching the entire bodycam video which is 23 minutes long. He knocks on the door calmly, and tells her she's not in any trouble. She opens the door and starts slashing immediately. He draws, she stops her progress for a second, and then re-engages. This is pretty cut and dry...She had this one comin.

Breh the growling and grumbling of her voice . I was legit scared and concerned . This a all around sad situation because clearly the cop didn't want any ill will and genuinely cared. If she could have just seen for herself instead of crashing out....this would have been a testimony for a future client of hers...

This isn't a movie, track and shoot if they want to do suicide stunts. Not advocating for the police but he nearly got killed trying to do a wellness check.

Leg shot is hard to get on a moving target at that range...

Anyone saying “use the taser” may not have seen one deployed, or didn’t watch the video.

A knife can get you close range (like how she slashed him partially out the door when he was in knocking range) and a taser deployed that close would be relatively ineffective/inaccurate.

If he would’ve knocked and dropped 10 feet back (nearly impossible in that corridor) a taser would’ve been ok, but he was a foot away and she opened the door pretty quickly.

Sad all around. It seems like the likeliest outcome of this situation was that someone was going to lose their life. RIP to her, if she had demons, at least she’s not living with that reality anymore

She ate 2 shots and was still trying to kill him. 99% of the world would have dumped the clip on her if they were in his shoes.
