I ain't trying to hear nothing from this nikka until he drop "The Winds of Winter". Until then he needs to shut the hell up and get back to writing.

I blame him for Game of Thrones having such a shytty ending.

House of Dragon ain't Game of Thrones by far, but it's a chance to right the wrongs Game of Thrones season 8.

He'll never admit that GOT ended based on his framework and because of the fan backlash he has nowhere to go with the story...them books ain't never coming out

Trust him and HBO after how Thrones ended, brehs. Haven't seen a sec of HoD because I already know the story. I don't have patience to watch thru more fukk ups.

Extremely confused as to where this is coming from.

GRR Martin hadn't been actively involved in the show for years by the time it ended.

WEISS: It's kind of nice for him because — obviously through necessity we've pulled out ahead — the show has become so different [in recent seasons] that people will have no way knowing from watching what will or won't appear in the books. And honestly, neither do we.

BENIOFF: We don't. And George discovers a lot of stuff while he's writing. I don't think that final book is written in stone yet — it's not written on paper yet. As George says, he's a gardener and he's waiting to see how those seeds blossom.

Alright...I mean to each his own at that point. I like focused worlds...I feel like if they tried to do everything they'd do nothing right
To me its like watching the wire for a whole season then suddenly godzilla shows up and takes out the towers.just disjointed

lol me and George agree on something cause i couldnt make it past episode 1 :scusthov:
Don’t care what the haters say Season 1 was fire. Season 2 felt filler like but it had some good moments.

And I do think Season 3 will be good despite the changes. These book readers are annoying and are always whining about something.

The show is fine. I haven't expected anything overly compelling from the GOT universe since about season 5. It's nice to see discussions about the lore and watch dragons burn people.

The fans George RR has, I'm sure any creative would hate to have. He gave the world 5 books and a ton of other material associated with A Song of Ice and Fire. He probably doesn't trust the storylines he's written anymore. Book readers mad cause he chased the bag like a real amurrican, as if they would have done any differently.

Clearly that TV money is far greater than the book money :lolbron:

Just be patient and wait for Book 6 and 7 maybe in another decade so you can complain about how bad and convoluted the story is. :mjlol:

I haven't watched that show at all, just leave shows as classics and dont try to re creat the said magic , it does not work at all
Unfortunately game of thrones is NOT classic cuz of that last season. If it was people would have been less eager for sequels and prequels. That season left such a bad taste that people wanted more content for feeling slighted

I'm actually enjoying the OTHER fantastical white people show. The lord of the rings related one. The production value is way better to me. But I watch both

Fred

From my perspective he had close to 8 years to finish the books once he allowed the show to be adapted from his books. The showrunners had nothing to adapt and went off on a wild tangent with nothing to operate of.

If I'm an artist, I'm wildly protective of my work and wouldn't allow people to adapt it if I'm not even finished. He couldn't finish the source material in 8 years?

Look at directors, writers, musicians, singers, painters the world over that won't let their material be shared until they are done with it.

For what's it worth...
it made sense that Dany wouldn't be accepted and subsequently went mad and Jon Snow wouldn't want to be king, but the way it played out was trash. Night King got offed in a single episode? Bran became king?

George said that the writers guessed his ending which is why he let them lead the show.

Huh?

This isn't entirely accurate.

"Hardhome", "The Winds Of Winter", and "The Door" had nothing to do with the books and were well received by fans and critics alike.

If you want to argue GRR Martin is lazy :yeshrug: he is but that's completely unrelated to Weiss and Benioff writing the show off a cliff. Especially considering they came up with their own material just fine prior to that.

They just stop giving a f*ck in the last 2 seasons. GRR Martin being unable to finish a book in 10+ years is a completely different issue.

I know they fell off a cliff because they got a Star Wars bag dangled in front of them, but it's my understanding everything Weiss and Beinoff did was derivative from Martin's work up to season 7. I'm OK with some creative liberties, because I never liked a beat by beat retelling of stories for other mediums. But a whole season or 2 is indicative that they had nothing to adapt.

Again, if I'm an artist, I'm not letting anyone adapt an unfinished product of mine. It would affect the perception and reception when my lazy ass finally gets around to finishing the final product.

It's easy to riff off an already finished product...that's why mixtapes took off if we being real.
