George hitting them with another ether like he did at the premiere :banderas:

Fanbase has boxed this series in. I've said it over and over again. If anything new is attempted "it's not Star Wars".

If you don't think the next two will mirror V and VI with slight alterations, new names and new faces like this one did you're in denial.

There is zero reason for the new films to be dealing with another empire, rebels, Skywalkers, Vader, Emperor, death stars etc 30 years later. Zero.

Han, Luke and co should have gone out like heroes like they were at the end of VI. Instead Luke's been retconned as a coward who ran and a washed up Han Solo went out to some whiney loser and this is what some of you are championing? :mjlol:

"They wanted to do a retro movie. I don't like that. Every movie, I worked very hard to make them different," Lucas told Rose. "I made them completely different -- different planets, different spaceships to make it new."
I agree with this. As I sat watching it I felt like it was a remake of Episode 4.

If you really sit back and think on it TFA basically makes the OG trilogy a failure. Makes the efforts of Luke, leia and Han all for not. I mean just 30 years later the universe is completely fukked ho again. Starkiller base has already did more damage than and deathstar ever. Most likely more casualities ever. TFA just makes them all seem like failures and losers the quality of there achievements.

Like I said before the movie came out, I wish they did something completely separate from the skywalkers. Either a story like 1000 years before or after the end of the OG trilogy. Complete original with the only constants being the force, the Jedi and the sith
That's how I felt. All those sacrifices that were made and they're basically back to the way it was in the beginning. Solo went through all that shyt only to end up being a hustler again. I would have liked for them to incorporate some of the expanded history into the new films. I'll admit i'm not big on Star Wars but from what I heard about the books, video games, comics, etc that followed after Episode 6 it's pretty interesting.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
George Lucas Quips He Sold 'Star Wars' to "White Slavers"; Criticizes "Retro" Tone of New Film

Lucas went on to tell Rose he has accepted that the franchise is now in other hands, then he somewhat criticized the latest installment, The Force Awakens.

"They wanted to do a retro movie. I don't like that. Every movie, I worked very hard to make them different," Lucas told Rose. "I made them completely different -- different planets, different spaceships to make it new."

Before the deal came about, Lucas said he planned on writing and directing the sequels to his original trilogy. Then the sale occurred. Disney was not interested in his ideas for the follow-ups, so he stayed away from the production of Force Awakens, he said.

"They weren’t that keen to have me involved anyway, but if I get in there, I’m just going to cause trouble, because they’re not going to do what I want them to do. And I don’t have the control to do that anymore, and all I would do is muck everything up,” he said. “And so I said, ‘OK, I will go my way, and I’ll let them go their way.’”

This is a HUGE problem I have with the look of the movie (haven't seen it). It's like the oldhead version of Muppet Babies. From the end of RotJ, we know Xwings and the basic TIE fighters are phased out. Han Solo is still running around like a smuggler when he's been a general in the rebellion. The Millenium Falcon shouldn't even be in the movie. The whole feel of the PROMOS is its the same old stuff just slightly different like a lazy sequel.

Disney seemed too scared to try to do something different so they painted the new script with Original Trilogy colors.

I definitely understand where lucas is coming from. I pretty much said the same thing in the star wars spoiler thread. The whole movie gives you déjà vu. Rey sneaking around the [death]starkiller like obi wan then [vader]ren kills the OG hero in front of the new generation. The millennium Falcon still being around after 40+ years and making it all the way to episode 8 is wack. Give this generation their own version of a millennium falcon.

You gotta understand this is a man that created one of the greatest fantasy universes of all time. And for 40 years, he was the only say so on what could be produced for the STAR WARS universe. Even if he really was nothing more than a figure head for the EXPANDED UNIVERSE (which consists of so many books and comics I've never heard of) they still were filtered through his company with his company's oversight. So, I can understand it being a little jarring to see TFA rehashing a lot of shyt he did 40 years ago. And to be honest he has a point. I think most STAR WARS fans will admit they wished TFA had more fresh creative ideas and direction.

But I do believe Rian Johnson is going to be the one to bring a new perspective and fresh ideas to this franchise.

Lucas haters will NEVER admit they don't love the fukk out of the new movies. They've got too much invested in shytting on Lucas for 10 years to turn around and complain about the SW movie they've been crying for...one without Lucas involved. Just like they call cry about marketing for the OT and Prequels when this Disney ad blitz made me not even want to see the damned movie.
