The United States did it with Taurasi in 2004, Candace Parker in 2008 and Stewart in 2016. And in the year before the WNBA launched, Rebecca Lobo was included on the 1996 Olympic team after graduating from UConn in 1995.
Lobo went through tryouts with 200 players for the 96 team.
Disagree 100%
Game is grown with star players and fan favorites, most people in packed nfl stadiums or in front of their couch on Sundays can name half the players on the team.
Everyone watched for different reasons whether it’s just city representation or a player that excites them.
WNBA purists really do have a problem with growth
Clark played on Team USACC fans really do show they don't know or care a lick about women's basketball
You got these men talking down to women like its cool pretending CC ain't lacking in any area of her game all because they want to cape for the mid white girl who can shoot threes but has no basketball intangibles to compete on an olympic level
Team USA don't give spots to scrubs maybe if she stepped her game up besides riding the popularity wave she would have been chosen
Angel reese has been chosen by team usa in the past so I know that's a fuel for the whataboutism as well
She was in the middle of a final 4 run during her final season of play..so yes she should be slotted in because of her accomplishments thus far..if we are talking about growing womens basketball to international levels...WNBA bulldaggers content with being treated like shytPeople are dumb af, Clark didn't even tryouts or camp. All the players on the team went to the camp but Caitlin gets to just walk on because she's Caitlin?

There’s something mentally off with CC Stan’s and it’s random af. Why did they want to latch onto her of all people? She wasn’t the first dominant white girl to come through WCBB
Whose job is it to promote the other players and teams when people tune in for CC?The irony of that tweet is the casual person don't know anybody on that team but they know who Caitlyn Clark is. You want to grow the game and encourage the casuals to watch it, put CC in there, even if she's not as good as the rest of the players.
