So you support Trump getting rid of those institutions?
Cautious of what, though? Retribution from the President and his cronies? That's a cowardly act of abdicating journalistic responsibility, and it only allows the Trump Administration to feel further emboldened that they won't be checked by the Fourth Estate. Woodward and Bernstein are regarded as journalistic icons for making the opposite decision when facing similar caution. Goldberg should have stayed in the group and should publish everything. fukk the President. The Atlantic was added to the Signal Group by accident, they didnt send him information purposefully. The White House also didnt say anything about classification until today so erring on the side of caution was smart.
I dont think he’s defending the admin becsuse why post the story. He is just being cautious, the admin has already made it clear its prosecuting anything they deem outta line so I cant really blame him for not release the whole thing. It could change though.

I would argue it's journalistic malpractice to willingly exit that chat, and Goldberg definitely left out of fealty and deference to the powerful, which is a complete inversion of the journalistic ethic. The best rationale I've seen is that he left when the strikes took place because he figured the chat would be bushed anyway, but that doesn't track with his actions since. This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Goldberg said he knew Waltz only once or twice and can’t remember the last time he saw him…so why is Goldberg’s number on short list for this shyt? or if he truly got fat fingered for another “JG” then so be it… but this is…still suspect. The Atlantic was added to the Signal Group by accident, they didnt send him information purposefully. Sean Spicer levels of glazeMike Waltz might've just engaged in a level of dikksucking completely clear of anything mankind has witnessed prior to this moment. Holy fukking shyt.![]()
It’s all fun and games until they try to cover something up and you’re on the chat. You either stay there or you pull out before they accuse you of also being in on the conspiracy.Cautious of what, though? Retribution from the President and his cronies? Being roped into deeper conspiracies is exactly what his job is. He committed no crime. If he's making decisions because he's scared to be brought up on trumped up charges then he should quit and hand over power to real journalists.Goldberg was on a runaway train to either being roped into deeper conspiracies or brought up on espionage (ultimately to be dropped because of journalistic freedom etc) charges or worse.
Goldberg HAD to step out sooner or later. You always run the risk of waiting until its too late to leave…and then you can’t...
