Brother, with all due respect, "they facilated" is doing a lot of heavy lifting when America was seeing a huge problem with herion in the 40's-50's and again in the 70's
What years was the drug epidemic the worst for the black community?

What years was gang violence at its height?

When was there a huge shift in crime percentages in the black community?

What are the ages of the founders of the worst gangs in our community?

Want me to pull up the stats to prove my point?

Nah, black baby boomers founded all the gangs and facilitated the drug epidemic in our communities (60’s/70’s/80’s)

If you really look at it.. when Malcolm and Martin died they didn’t carry the torch… black boomers got a lil bit more freedom and access to better jobs/more income and completed lost sight of the entire cause.
When did the JIm Crow Era end? And were you alive when it did, or anywhere near that time?

“Officially” ended in 65. What’s the relevance
So the youngest boomers were born in 64, meaning all the boomers lived during Jim Crow, the time that started right after slavery. But you can't see how any of the lynching, poverty, and oppression suffered by our people during that treacherous era, is relevant to Black gangs and drugs in our communities from the 60's, till this day? If you're going to say something about the Black boomers, at least give some respect to the Black Panthers, the old Black Boomers, who got wiped out by the White Greatest and the White Silent Generation...the generations that also wiped out Dr. King, and so many others who fought for our people. Those two generations eventually wiped out the whole civil rights movements.

But when it comes to Black people in America, generationalism don't make a lot of sense...not as long as racism is aloud to exist. Like I indicated earlier, White oppression has always been our problem. When you look at who's in office, that should be more obvious now, than ever.

1. If you want to specify the reasons why black boomers were our worst generation… that’s cool. My point that they were the worst still stands.

2. If trauma/racism/jim crow was the direct cause of what started in the 60’s/70’s… then the generations before the boomers should have been 10x worse because they went through 10x worse.

Once access to capitalism increase THAT because the prime directive. How the generation that grew up during the civil rights struggle can be the generation with the biggest jump in socioeconomic mobility also be the one that didn’t produce any solidified movement to push the cause forward.

What happened is that the freedoms and social mobility that was granted caused them to completely forget where they came from. We are talking about people who were alive when Martin was doing his thing and breaking barriers. The actual leaders of the black struggle were present and visible. These people were witnesses to the greatest steps forward in the history of our community… instead of carrying the torch forward they fumbled it and the light went out.

Now we got goofies like Roland Martin and dr umar tap dancing for likes and asking for donations. shyt is a damn shame.

@Savvir Like I said, when it comes to Black people in America, generalization makes no sense, as long as racism is aloud. My point still stands.

But the biggest drawback from the 60's, was when White racism practically killed our civil rights movements by the assassination of Dr. King. Then eventually all groups started benefiting off the back of our civil rights movement, but White woman wound up benefiting from it the most, until Elon Musk just got rid of DEI.

When I compare the 60's, 70's. and 80's, we as Black people started to morally decline in the 80's, as soon as Regan got in office. We started telling each other to look out for number one. Then in the mid 80's, we got hit with drugs being flooded in all our Black neighborhoods, big and small. That's when my city DC, became the murder capital. I'm not sure if the Black communities nationwide, ever morally recovered from the mid 80's.

This low key a bothsider thread. Not blaming the left or the right, just blaming an entire generation of people despite half of them being the complete opposite of the other half.
