they're not asking for your approval though.

The comparison doesn't make sense in every day life, but if you look at it on paper when it comes to legal recognition, the plight becomes obvious.

...and asians face immigration quotas.

Whats your point?

All that shyt pales in comparison to black discrimination. It is barely even a slight that some people don't like gays when gays can get jobs easily meanwhile people both hate blacks and won't hire them. I think the point is that gay and black discrimination is not the same. Black discrimination is historically and currently and has always been far worse.

He won't agree with you breh. Gay people weren't stolen from Fairyville and made to work in cotton candy fields. Be raped, mind fukked, indoctrinated etc for 400 years and then continue to face oppression. Somehow he'll equate it though, somehow :banderas:

Can you hide the fact that you're gay? Yes, haven't you heard of beards, marriage of convenience? Like I said before, people might assume someone is gay because of their demeanor and clothing, but it's all just speculation. So when they're discriminated based on looks, that's just an assumption on their part unless that person has explicitly stated that they're gay.

Mixed folk were still considered black in white communities because they could pass, and they were discriminated against when they were found to be black even though a majority of their heritage is white. What does that tell you?

Let's stop comparing apples and oranges. When gays go through segregation and apartheid at the level of black folk, then they can talk (I'm strictly speaking on non-black queers).

Certain features associated with "appearing" LGBTQ, are just as hard to hide as dark skin: a naturally high-pitched or deep voice, a naturally gender-atypical gait, a naturally gender-atypical bone structure/body type...

As far as your apples and oranges: though the examples aren't as immediate and vivid as Jim Crow Laws in 1960s America, there's certainly no shortage of institutionalized homophobia throughout history. In the Middle Ages, it was common practice for suspected LGBTQs to be executed, and they were burned as witches during the witch trials in colonial America. To this day there are still 80 countries where homosexual acts are illegal -- 5 which carry the death penalty.

I equate gayness with pedophilia and

How the hell do two consenting adults compare to child abuse? You don't like gays just say that, you sound stupid making the preposterous comparisons. Just embrace the hate in your heart.

All of it is just fear. Whites have a fear of blacks because they understand us. Homophobes have a fear of gays because they don't understand us.

:comeon: White folks understand black folks? Is that why we get arrested for legally purchasing items in dept stores? Or murdered by law enforcement because we were viewed as a threat?

That statement is the single most off base thing I've heard a "black" person say in I don't know how long. White people understand blacks get the fukk outta here, I'd slap the shyt outta you for saying that dumb shyt in public.

I thought the whole notion of racism/xenophobia was based off of a person's ignorance and lack of understanding of other races...which leads to an unsubstantiated fear of people..how you gonna be an informed racist? That's an oxymoron breh...
And I agree with your first rebuttal....I remember when I lost a significant amount of respect for Ben Carson when he went and compared homosexuality to NAMBLA, (North American Man/Boy Love Association):birdman:

I think the ridiculousness of that statement speaks for itself:birdman:

If you don't like homosexuality...then fine....but don't try to legitimize your distaste for it by making outlandish comparisons.

This is true but gay people are discriminated against nevertheless, so some consideration and empathy must be taken into account for their won struggle. It may be as severe as other people's, but discrimination is rarely fair or equal across groups. Even within them sometimes.

Mixed folk were still considered black in white communities because they could pass, and they were discriminated against when they were found to be black even though a majority of their heritage is white. What does that tell you?

You make a point that whites do not like blacks at base but go too far in your analysis. Any mixed person that could pass was not discriminated against. Being able to "pass" means you are in effect white and no different than any other white. Thus you were not discriminated against.

Those mixed who whites could tell had black ancestry discrimination, but it was not equal to what a full black person might face. Oftentimes it depended on things like apperance (ie. John Boehner's mom is basically a light skin), region (North versus South), people, etc. The point I'm trying to make is that like discrimination against gay people, discrimination against mixed people, discrimination against blacks, against Asians, etc can all be different in terms of tone and severity. You might even say ugly people are discriminated against.

Well yes this is what I'm saying. I don't think gays go through the same life.

Has the gay rights struggle been as difficult and brutal as the black man's struggle in this country?

No.

But they are treated poorly and are discriminated against. And I think that needs to change.
I can understand why some black people take offense at the comparison though.

I take offense because they'll use our struggle to gain benefits for themselves, but then turn around and be on some :mjpls: when black people complain about the discrimination we're still facing.
