Stannis can be an a$$hole but if I were next in line for the throne, I wouldn't want to rule a broken kingdom either. This is the guy who helped smashed the Greyjoy Rebellion. If he allied with Robb under those circumstances and won the Iron Throne, what's to stop the other kingdoms from declaring autonomy?

True. I always felt that Robb should've allied with Stannis since he tries his best to emulate Ned. Even tho I was rooting for him to come out on top since the Starks got that underdog thing going for them.

Still though, pretty fukked up how Stannis KNOWS Ned Stark was adamantly behind his cause and wanted him to inherit the throne despite being advised otherwise (even his own brother Renly didn't think so) yet he is here putting hexes and voodoo spells on Ned's son

Nah. The kingdom was still unified. When Ned got killed he died a "traitor" he was stripped of all of his status. Before that he was just Lord of Winterfell and Warden of the North. Or when he turned in his King's Hand badge after arguing with King Robert, Jaime said "A lord of somewhere very far away".
