Who was Earn talking to when he said he knows Van messing around? I must of missed that.

I don't recall that convo either.

She is and brings nothing to the table

Before the past episode, she was bringing in a consistent paycheck, letting Earn stay in her place and seems to actually want Earn to get his shyt together so they can be a family.

the only people on this show I hate more are earns stingy ass patents. I would never have my son out here struggling like that while I was chilling

fukk Earn, dude gets kicked out/leaves Princeton, comes back home, doesn't tell anybody why, just says he's on a break for a year, which turns into 3 years, is working a bullshyt ass job signing people up for credit cards at the airport, which is based on commission but he doesn't even give a fukk enough to try to make sales, even though he's got a kid at home and is living at his baby mama's crib.

Earn is struggling because he doesn't give a damn, based on the scene with him and his parents, he's asked and most likely received money before and they cut him off because they realized he wasn't giving a fukk about his life and was the type of dude that takes a shyt in your toilet and doesn't flush. He drops his daughter at his parent's place while he goes to Paperboy's house to get high, his parents have watched the baby multiple times so far.

He's grown as hell with a kid, and before running to Paperboy's house after learning he had some buzz, Earn wasn't doing anything that would show his parents that he cared.

Even Paperboy called him out on that shyt, hadn't seen Earn since his mom's funeral, as soon as his name is buzzing Earn comes looking to join the team.

He's referring to episode 1 when Earn was at work talking to his co-worker(same guy who told him about restaurant in ep 3) at the airport .

He called himself Hendawg on the phone, but we've never gotten a real name for him.

Yeah, people in this thread don't realize that Earn and Van are not a couple yet.

What's their backstory?
We thought that maybe Van and Earn ran in similar circles, but didn’t really know each other that well for quite awhile. Then, at a club, they started hanging out, and super-quick after that, they got pregnant. So they never had an opportunity to feel each other out or date, to make it work outside a huge responsibility. I think the contention comes from not really knowing each other.

They had a one-night-stand and got pregnant. Now they're friends who raise a baby together. Earn's paying rent to live in Van's apartment. They both date other people.

They are obviously going to end up becoming a couple, though.

With Earn, outwardly, he’s not totally supportive. Van is cultivating fatherhood for him. But I think she can also see deeper than what’s there. He’s an intelligent person and they can also get along. That’s something that comes in a later episode — Van and Earn choose love over conflict. It’s important to see that Van and Earn can work.
