The "Brad Pitt/shond rhymes" line also didn't make sense. imo:mjlol:

A lot of interesting messages communicated in this episode.. might hit a little too close to home for some.

Nah we ain’t bugging. I wasn’t feeling that shyt.

The issue is, I felt like they TRIED to make it more balanced when the black chick went off saying that the white woman had “opportunities” that she didn’t have. She, as a black woman, doesn’t have the benefit of watching a black man “grow” into his own because she’s busy trying to survive her damn self in a world that treats her, in many instances, even WORSE than that of a black man.

The problem is that they had her embody the “angry black woman” stereotype while she expressed her viewpoint. Which pissed away the entire message, because everyone will be harping on the “loud, neck rolling, angry” part instead of reading between the lines.

It’s especially heinous considering that the show’s writers have gone to great pains in season one to poke fun at, and ultimately dismiss that stereotype. Van called Earn out on that shyt wayyyyyy back in season one (episode 3 Go For Broke)

It could’ve been done MUCH better and as a fan of both Donald Glover and the series, it was dissapointing that they decided to go that route.

Ima rate the episode a 7/10. My lowest rating for an episode.
Agree, they really ruined a good narrative they could have played with

:laff: @ "I ain't got time to be supporting no community ass nikka for 8 years" :russ:

Triple entendre don't even ask me how lmao

Community( Like a regular guy), Community Theater (a dude who hasn't made it out of the local scene) or Community as in the show he played on NBC as Troy (Troy and Abed in the morning!)

Brad Pitt line made perfect sense. Black women feel like the top successful black males date the most average white women (looks wise). The reverse is not true. You would not see Brad Pitt date a black woman who is not considered as one of the best looking of her race, regardless of her success.

Ok I was interpreting differently.

If it's just to complete the cypher to make the "angry" black women believable than I see.

But the reality of this narrative is so false. The WM in Hollywood or elite that r married to BW ain't all with the baddest of the race.
