Episode was :lupe:

I need to watch it again,

The scene with Alfred and Earn clowning in the car struck me as being a metaphor for young musicians not really fukking with the cats that came before them. They laughed at the whole Sammy Sosa thing, because Teddy/ Benny were so far from their prime that it's the only thing most people remember them for. It's a two way street though - Teddy has his criticisms of hip-hop as well.

Darius' assertion that "Not all great things come from great pain" basically sums up the whole ep. For Teddy it wasn't enough that Darius wanted to pick up the piano - Teddy had to give him some of the psychological terror that came with it. In the end, it all ended up being moot anyway.

The part with Darius in the elevator going down reminded me of Prince passing :mjcry:
The fact that the authorities ended up with the piano was reminiscent of the wrangling over Prince's catalogue too. That would tie into the 'Robbin' Season' motif as well:jbhmm:
