I think its pretty hard to argue that hip hop doesnt have the potential to affect kids negatively. I have a childhood friend says that he got addicted to drugs partly because he heard Lil Wayne, Kid Cudi and Future talk about that shyt :francis:

Granted, hes a goddamn idiot :shaq2: But I doubt his story is uncommon

It isn't the artist's fault. These motherfukkers just trying to make dope music, and you gonna put responsibility on them? :dahell:

Blame the labels

Well there you have it :mjlol:

Where were his parents? :comeon:

do you not see how A, B, and C are the main contributing factors? that's my whole point, stop blaming music when bigger forces are at play in these kids' lives.
I'm not blaming music, I'm saying music and entertainment CONTRIBUTE to these kids choices.

I'm not saying it is THE factor, but it definitely is A factor. and ppl denying this or not giving enough credence to this point are severely underestimating the effects that they really have.

Ppl NOT blaming music are allowing this type of shyt to carry on. I'm saying, music deserves some blame, but that doesn't mean that other issues don't deserve its just blame as well.

this isn't an either/or scenario. this is an "and" scenario. where multiple factors contribute to deteriorating behavior.

Blame the labels
if we keep playing the blame game no one wins. ppl need to be responsible for their contributions to this problem. can't keep pushing it off to the next man.

The artists share some of that blame (as well as the labels).
Radio and DJ's pushing this music share it
Hollywood shares it
Parents share it (and in reality, hold the lion's share of blame)

now, if on one hand we say that these problems are an epidemic to the poor/black communities.
and on the other hand we say that these problems make it easier for rappers to influence these kids.

where do we draw the line?

They used celebrities to promote cigarettes back in the day, people look up to celebrities. People are influenced by them and want to be like them.

Don't you think Nikki Minaj and Kim K influenced more women to get fake asses? Celebrities are a big influence on 'normal' people.
If your point is that dump people are easily influenced to make dumb decisions, you'll get no argument from me. Rachet bytches get ass implants because they see celebrities doing it and nikkas lust after that shyt. Dumb ass nikkas cop the new Yeezy's instead of paying their water bill. These are the decisions of adults. Two adults fukking with no protection and having a kid who they aren't able to properly raise is also the decision of adults. That child being influenced by rap or whatever other medium is the end result of adults making dumb fukking decisions and leaving that child without the proper guidance and tools to make the right decisions. Future is not turning a kid with the right guidance into a pill popper. The number one cause of kids doing drugs, drinking, etc? Growing up. They see adults do that shyt, they think being an adult is cool, and they want to be cool. If you think a celebrity has more influence than an older brother or an older cousin, you're crazy. Children are far more perceptive than you give them credit for. A child's first curse word is most likely going to be the product of hearing an elder say it all the time. The first time I ever tasted alcohol I was nine and I did it because I was at a wedding, all the grownups were doing it, and there happened to be a glass of champagne just sitting there and nobody noticed. It wasn't Biggie Smalls' fault

We're talking about kids tho man. Why are you not lacing blame on the parents :mindblown:
Like someone else said, parents are the control variable. Unless you wanna argue that, for some reason, parents have gotten worse, they can't be blamed.

The different is we now live in a media construct, and it isn't being used responsibly

You stupid motherfukkers need to stop pretending his music has no influence over these kids. You all like his music, like the beats. That's cool, but for those kids growing up, he's having an influence over them into trying lean.

Y'all gotta remember a lot of these nikkas and broads posting is probably addicts themselves and Future makes them feel comfortable and normal being fiends.

I've never smoked a cigarette or weed let alone Molly etc.

Any child who takes part in such things based on a song or peer pressure probably has poor excuses for parents or family

That's the families fault not future

I'm 28 I've got a 16 year old brother he don't even listen to no fukking future breh looks at me like what the fukk is this ignorant bullshyt when I'm bumping that future Hendrix :lolbron::dj2:
