i am willing to bet the majority of the users on this forum were shaped indirectly by the music and entertainment they were exposed to during their developmental years.

For myself at least, Style yes back during the dipset era. My playlist makes me seem like the ultimate gangsta.

In real life, I'm a family man who does finance and wear dressy clothes to work.

And I come from let's say , humble beginning in NYC.

Yup, I ain't never seen anyone with some trues on after rappers started wearing them. Nobody ever ordered a bottle of Cristal because of a rapper. Nobody ever put a grill on, wore a chain, or a fake diamond watch because of a rapper. There wasn't a single person to get tatted up from head to toe or start growing Dreads after Lil' Wayne made it popular. Snoop never influenced anybody to smoke weed back in the day. nikkas all over the country didn't just start drinking lean and popping pills out of nowhere a few years back. Nah, that couldn't have possibly been influenced by Hip-Hop in any way, shape, or form.

Nobody has denied that good parenting is needed. However also remember that plenty of chicks are having children young and they themselves are not fully prepared to raise a child. So of course they listen to that kind of stuff in front of their child and don't think anything of it.

The media has a far greater reach and for every good parent out there you have plenty of others that just don't care.
