Conway album had cuts for sure. The Jill Scott song should be getting play. That's a weak sus excuse for a DJ.

Nobody tells Eminem he needs radio songs. He got on with whatever he wanted to make a single.

I love that Jill Scott song. Probably one of the best songs all year, but that song isn't a good single for the radio.

And I hate Em and his music, but the reality is he's the flagship artist at Interscope. They're going to make sure he gets all the playlisting, radio play, and exposure he needs.

And that's not because he makes great radio singles, because Em has been garbage for over a decade, it's because he resonates with his massive cult fanbase of suburban white kids.

He's pretty much a cash cow that's always a reliable source of income for Interscope.

Conway is one depressed dude...

But that don't excuse that Flex is just a payola DJ

Hot 97 hasn't been the place to hear "good" music since the early 2000's

It is where you go to hear "popular" music

Not all popular music is "good"

Also, Flex is funny but he's also a dikkrider so he's not to be taken seriously

They played them at night though. They're not even doing that now with rappers that can actually rap. The same thing you heard at 7 AM will be the same thing you hear at midnight driving on the Major Deegan.
Nah they shyt gets played after hours 1-2 AM type shyt

Eminem verses haven't elevated them, why would Cardi rapping over a slow Daringer beat fix things lol. They're too old, unattractive (pause), and make dreary music that people don't want to hear outside. The weird thing is that they were in a lucrative lane. People were buying the vinyls, going to the shows. They should have been content with that, vs trying to expand without expanding their sound. Benny deserves credit for seeking out different sounds and he's found some success but that's about as far as they can go IMO. Enjoy the money, save some, and live life...
These nikkas bugged out with these Indy labels

Drumwork, Black Soprano Family just doing way too much

Ain’t nobody listening to those artists they got

They should have stuck to the Griselda brand and their bread and butter selling the merch and the vinyls and staying united

Lmao Flex speaking the truth... I mean... he sees Griselda for what they are... they appeal mainly to white dorks who buy their 'collectible' merch and nerd out with their shyt. He never recognized them as a real force in the game, overall like a G-Unit, Ruff Ryders, Dipset, Brick Squad movement.... they simply have a niche, and it is what it is. They're also overly cocky dikkheads, the shyt they've said on social media is wild cringe and they seem to be really touchy, like females and they get in their feelings way too much and go on whining rants on Twitter. Their music is boring. They don't belong anywhere near a Funkmaster Flex mix and rightfully so... All these dudes do is cry and stay disgruntled and mad.... Why? Y'all got a cult following fanbase, have achieved a lot of accolades and making plenty money. Dudes must be mad they really not ringin' off in hood circles like that... but they got the whiteboys, so be happy. I can't tell you how many times I brought up these dudes names as a litmus test for my own curiousity when discussing music shyt with round the way nikkas and usually always their response is "Nah I don't know them, where they from?"

It is such a difficult thing to establish a fanbase as an artist. You’re lucky if anybody cares. It’s the same whining I couldnt stand from Joe Budden in the 00s

Griselda makes dope music but one thing that annoyed me about them (especially Benny) is that they rarely go out of their lane. As hard as G Unit mixtapes were, for example, Banks and even Yayo had dope singles for the radio on their albums. These nikkas don't even try

Even when Benny gets on a non-Griselda track he's still talking the same plug talk shyt. I just don't understand it. Hov would hit you with hustler bars all the time but he was never focused entirely on talking about bricks, road trips, etc. There's nothing slick about these guys. It's just straight up.

Not a bad verse obviously but it's supposed to a banger and he's rapping the same shyt, and they had to slow down the beat for his flow.

They still have the Griselda brand.

They're just creating their own labels and being business men which is what they're supposed to do.

And stop with the "ain't nobody listening" shyt. There's room for artists to exist no matter what the size of their audience is. A guy like Roc Marci isn't selling huge amounts but still had a huge impact on hip hop.

If you can release music and have that turn into shows and merch sales you can eat well. Radio is not a factor for underground artists.

The real reason Conway is upset is he doesn't feel like he gets the recognition. He needs to get over that because the masses don't care about bars. The ones who do care see what he's doing and he needs to learn to be content with that.

Versatility isn't a strong suit for most rappers from my observations through the years. Very few are capable of it and Hov is one of them. LL is another one that comes to mind droppin love records, club records, and battle records. BIG too. That's what separates the greats. Griselda is in that BCC, DITC lane. Nothing wrong with that, and they're great at what they do, but there's only so much success to be had with that sound.

That reminds me of years ago I had a chick in my first car, and I popped in the CD player Black Moon. Girl looked at me with the :what:
