Does anybody even talk about that Benny and Drake track anymore?

no idea. but that would sorta enforce my point. Drake's arguably the biggest current artist still.

If that track isn't even being talked about (released or not), having a nicki/meg verse would probably end up the same.

Probably, but why wouldn’t Roc Nation push for a collab with Meg?

Koalabama and the Cosmos
Conway would be dope if he used MF DOOM play book.

I’m not taking about the mask either.

Just do collabs and be the feature killer.

That’s what I would do if I got in the rap game 35+.

I’m not here for the young boy internet games. I bringing bars and peacing out back to my fortress of solitude

You would think Conway and rappers like him would follow that lead, instead of getting bitter on Twitter about the ordeals of their failures. There is a place for them bars and he has a loyal fanbase, but he wants the fame of Drake and em.

Its like what Joe Budden said:

Who do we wanna target
Will they put an Uncle Murda cd in a Wal-Mart or a Target

I like Conway's album and some Griselda shyt but this basically gets to a point I've been making for awhile. A handful of old heads gassed these guys up by LYING that they sound like 90s rap when in reality it doesn't. What noteworthy rapper in the 90s was predominantly rapping over drumless loops or super low tempo/slow drums and low bpm samples? Keep it a buck: nobody is fukking with that shyt outside of a handful of people. Conway's album sold less than 8k first week.

Let's get in a time machine and go back to 97. What was on DJ Clue tapes? A mixture of street shyt, boom bap r&b, and what we might consider pop rap. You'd hear TONY, Hypnotize, and the unreleased All About The Benjamins within a 20 minute span. You know what you weren't hearing? Joyless slow ass drums. For as depressed as DMX was, the shyt the radio played was up tempo as fukk lol. Now let's head to the Tunnel. You know what you're hearing? Phone Tap. Incarcerated Scarfaces. Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See. Mo Money Mo Problems. Big Momma Thang. Again you aren't hearing low bpm shyt there either.

These guys gotta reckon with the fact that they're 40 plus dressing like teenagers because they never had money until a couple years ago, and they make music you can't even play in a car by yourself because it doesn't bang. Not the drums, not the bass, nothing.
:manny:
Bro this Ether u served up was fresh off the Stillmatic album lol Damn

Flex know exatcly what Con is talking about. Flex is a dikk rider. All those old nikkas at Hot 97 got to go.

Smh at nikkas dikk riding flex...

And that nikkas a terrible club DJ. He had the same set and his ass ALWAYS cut the fukking record WAY to short. Dont get me started with the Bomb dropping shyt and talking on the mic. YES, that goofy nikka did the same shyt he does on the radio in the club.

maybe she declined?

Are they / she obligated to, just because they're managed by the same company?
Not obligated, but I don’t see the other benefits that Westside Gunn and Benny gain from Roc Nation management, At this point they should just self manage and save their money.

Good music is good music regardless of age. The issue here is they only want to make music for a niche market, and are too stuck in their own way to see the bigger picture. Just one verse from a Nikki or a Meg or a Cardi would elevate them.
Eminem verses haven't elevated them, why would Cardi rapping over a slow Daringer beat fix things lol. They're too old, unattractive (pause), and make dreary music that people don't want to hear outside. The weird thing is that they were in a lucrative lane. People were buying the vinyls, going to the shows. They should have been content with that, vs trying to expand without expanding their sound. Benny deserves credit for seeking out different sounds and he's found some success but that's about as far as they can go IMO. Enjoy the money, save some, and live life...

they've been on the tonight show and have gotten commercial placements.

But you seem to think the same way con's thinking that they need to be bigger than they are. he can't be content with what he has, but isn't willing to actually change.

Well the track with Eminem is Conways biggest streamed track, however he shot himself in the foot with the comments he made about Eminem‘s fans, and the slick things he would say about Eminem on social media.

The weird thing is that they were in a lucrative lane. People were buying the vinyls, going to the shows. They should have been content with that,

They were selling to the same 1000 fans though…

The bottom line is they pidgin holed themselves into a niche market and probably think that niche market will call them “sell outs ” if they explore and go mainstream with their music and subject matter.
