Yes this is where I think Conway's anger stems from more than anything. They still feel a way about it. Flex was never a fan of Griselda. He only had them on because so many fans was telling him he needs to have them on, he did it. But I don't think their style really is what Flex is into.

then conway is right and flex don't deserve to be a gatekeeper cuz that shyt went hard.... and it was over "hits" beats so flex could've caught a vibe very easily

I feel like people got amnesia.

Flex the same dude that tried to revive 69's career when he was ice cold. So nah, he don't just play "what people want". He can and has had an agenda.

Yes Conway complains too much but Flex ain't the guy to call him out.

Fred.

An Eminem feature can literally make you a millionaire. Not to mention that co-sign means hella random placements on commercials, movies, tv shows, etc behind the scenes.

So how come an Eminem feature didn't elevate Conway or make him a multimillionaire

Where's West Side Boogie's placement on TV shows, commercials and movies?

How many movies have Slaughterhouse been in?

West Side Boogie's ppl were complaining about Shady for years and the lack of support. Conway was tryna get off that label and has now left. There's only Em and like 2 other artists on there now.

:dwillhuh: then why did you go on that retarded rant, you're mad they're gate keeping, but you just "proved" you don't need them...what in the fukk do you want?

even if you got flex and the older DJs outta here....the new blood ain't gonna magically play your shyt. they'd continue on with the younger popular acts.

Yeah, I don't get it. One second, it's "Get these gatekeepers out of the way," and the next, it's "Well, I never needed you anyway." Breh is out her sounding like someone who took his shot at a woman, got turned down, and then told her she was ugly right after.

And Flex is absolutely right in this case. They have the relationships and resources, so it's not a case of the industry not being willing to at least try to support them. At this point, it's the music. Griselda makes music for a very specific type of hip hop fan, and that fan hasn't checked for what's on the radio in decades, so station PDs see no advantage in catering to them.

shyt, THEY don't even bother catering to potential new listeners. You see a new Griselda project is out, and you can automatically pencil in most of the production being Daringer or Alchemist, and the real question is how many beats have drums. At this point, any increase in success and notoriety is completely on them.

I fukk w/ Griselda and Con....but what exactly is he looking for? He really ain't gonna crossover like that...and I had to :mjlol: when he called flex and em "old" gate keepers (I get the angle he's coming from but con ain't no 20 something "young" act)...you too damn old yourself....and do you really need flex, sus, etc to play you like that? You seem to do pretty well off word of mouth, shows, etc.

Rant would make more sense if it was still the 90's or early 2000's.

Flex prob right, he has "peaked"...i'd be more shocked if he actually blew bigger than he is now.
he lost me when he dissed Flex but big upped Ebro & Rosenberg..they need to get tf out the way too
Hot 97 still on my shyt list for that Paddy Duke situation :pacspit:

I think you mean Westside Gunn, not Boogie. Unless I've missed it, I don't think I've seen him complaining about anything.

Not sure about the last few months but that song Conway had with Eminem was his most streamed song on Spotify. Conway played himself when he cursed out Eminem’s fans then started copping pleas when it was too late.

These guys have pidgin holed themselves into a niche market and get upset that ‘mainstream “ dont want to play their music. Always blaming everybody but not looking at themselves.

By the way, Conway isn’t signed to Roc Nation. Benny and Westside Gunn are

I like Conway's album and some Griselda shyt but this basically gets to a point I've been making for awhile. A handful of old heads gassed these guys up by LYING that they sound like 90s rap when in reality it doesn't. What noteworthy rapper in the 90s was predominantly rapping over drumless loops or super low tempo/slow drums and low bpm samples? Keep it a buck: nobody is fukking with that shyt outside of a handful of people. Conway's album sold less than 8k first week.

Let's get in a time machine and go back to 97. What was on DJ Clue tapes? A mixture of street shyt, boom bap r&b, and what we might consider pop rap. You'd hear TONY, Hypnotize, and the unreleased All About The Benjamins within a 20 minute span. You know what you weren't hearing? Joyless slow ass drums. For as depressed as DMX was, the shyt the radio played was up tempo as fukk lol. Now let's head to the Tunnel. You know what you're hearing? Phone Tap. Incarcerated Scarfaces. Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See. Mo Money Mo Problems. Big Momma Thang. Again you aren't hearing low bpm shyt there either.

These guys gotta reckon with the fact that they're 40 plus dressing like teenagers because they never had money until a couple years ago, and they make music you can't even play in a car by yourself because it doesn't bang. Not the drums, not the bass, nothing.

Nah west side Boogie's ppl from Compton were previously complaining about Shady's handling. Basically he was just on there and didn't really see any benefits or direction from Em. Though he's been gaining traction somewhat lately

He didn't complain directly but it sounded like they were voicing his complaints

Like somebody said, coming from Flex might get hate, but Flex right. Conway and all them Griselda dudes are throwbacks. Cant be mad at whats going on. They found a lane that gets them good touring. Be blessed you got that.

I hate when people do that. If you have grievances go directly to the source instead of getting your people to drop hints.
