This would be my only gripe about the show. But honestly, the show is much less about football than it is about the lives of the people. So not really that big of a deal to me..

Yeah I hear ya. Whenever I try to put people onto FNL, they write it off as just some football show. And they're not that interested. I just started re-watching the series from the beginning and there's really not even that much football in it after the first couple episodes.
Just show people this quote from Peter Berg to get them interested...
