Finally got to checkin this out. I had it in the queue for a minute. I'm on season 3 right now, but I was all in after the first couple episodes. I get the same kinda vibe that i get from Parenthood. I know they're at least affiliated by NBC. Not sure if there's any of the same staff. They really got the casting down. I care about what happens to all these damn characters. It's emotional and sometimes sad, but it's really captivating storytelling.

The showrunner of FNL is the same as the one on Parenthood, so your right in that they have kind of the same vibe.

Anybody ever notice that in the FNL movie that Buddy Garrity and Tammy Taylor essentially play the same character.
Buddy is a booster in the movie and Tammy is the coaches wife. I had FNL fever so i went back to check out the movie and had the :ohhh: face. Didn't even realize they were in the movie.

FInished the show.

Thought it was good but yall overrated it. It's like 8/10. Some people talking about "better than the Wire" :upsetfavre:

Coach was lowkey funny - they shouldve made him more comedic... particular with Saracen

Saracen came to the crib for his first date

Coach: Want a beer?
Saracen: Uh..no..uh no...I'm driving later
Coach: It was a joke.:birdman:

Saracen comes to the crib

Tami: Oh honey look it's Matt
Coach: I know who it is, what the hell are you doing here?

and LOL at this man still calling the homie LANCE not Landry

I had two beefs with the show

1. They always won on the last play... really? I guess they did it for entertainment value

2. Vince never played organized football a day in his life but out of nowhere he gets offers to the biggest D1 schools.. not even him but a lot of players. It's a cuontry full of high school football players but it seems like it came too easy... unless in the States it's real easy to get looks by D1

They should've shown Smash more, they cut him off in the beginning of season 3. Him and coach were the best. They had Tyra and Landry in the last episode, we needed to see The Smash baby.

Lyla and Becky were mad fine. Thought season 5 kinda fell off.

I always never understood why you couldn't call teachers/coaches by their first name. I said hell if I was either I wouldn't mind. But I understand where Coach was coming from, the way he yelled and was so strict, you could see the outcome of his discipline. He genuinely wanted them to do well. But still, f teachers lol

Again, yall made the writing make it sound like it was Breaking Bad, Boardwalk or The Wire

This would be my only gripe about the show. But honestly, the show is much less about football than it is about the lives of the people. So not really that big of a deal to me.

As far as people overrating it...I can't agree with you. This is probably tied with Breaking Bad as my favorite show of all time. FNL is still the only show where I was legitimately sad when it ended.
