Yea, I hear you, which is why I give up going in detail about anything. It's always nice to think that sharing these perspectives will help someone to
think for themselves and push for the positive, because I seek that knowledge, that opposing perspective, because the struggles we face isn't new,
someone else has lived that and we can learn from them. I try to learn something all the time.

Just really demoralizing when we get topics that can at least spur dialog, and yea not every conversation leads to action ,but when the day winds down
it is nice to get other perspectives on these things. Unfortunately, 99% of what I get from here (my favorite pastime) is superficial, and the very fact
that people on here, many older than I, seem to be so ignorant of how things work vs how they perceive them...jesus christ. This is precisely why
in the face of the love I have for my old neighborhood, I can't fukk with many people still there. I try to learn from them, they offer little. If I offer advice, I
am preaching at best, privileged and detached (like I don't know what dirt poor is) at worst. I will do my thing in the near future, just seems so
hopeless when a community that unequivocally gives so much to pop culture and pretty much sets the trends has no idea how to capitalize, or at least
come to grips with how it shoots itself in the foot every time it has a chance to advance. It saddens me, breh.

You're not the first person to go through that breh. I don't remember the exact quote, but Marcus Garvey (who may or may not be a #RealBlack ) said something along the lines of you should never get discouraged when you're people don't want to be liberated because they don't know any better.

That's pretty much how I go about it now. My girlfriend loves Victoria Secret and buys from them exclusively. But because she hears me talk so much about trying to spend 100% of my money with black people, she went out and found a black owned lingerie company and said she'll never purchase anything from Victoria Secret again. She also makes sure she gets any car maintenance done at the black owned mechanic shop down the road from us. I bought her dad a copy of Hidden Colors for Christmas and now me and him be talking about this shyt. I even got a couple of friends to put their money in a black bank instead of Chase/BOA/Wachovia/etc.

It's a hard job breh, but ultimately if we give up, who's gonna be left to fight this fight

everyone seems to have their own criteria, but at the end of the day what does it accomplish? especially when no one can agree on what that criteria is?

If the eradication of the one drop rule comes to be it will automatically enable us to stop claiming the biracials who don't see themselves as black at least.

It's basic math breh. If you parents are black, that means they're 100% black. Unless their grandparents aren't black then they're mixed which makes you mixed because you're not 100% black. But then they can't be mixed because they look and identify with being black and so did their parents. But they can't be black because being black means you're 100% black and not mixed
