Ngannou is indeed getting better. He might want to have a few more fights under his belt before going at Jones. Its gonna be like his first fight with Stipe. Stipe wasn't necessarily the better fighter as was Ngannou just not experienced enough to do what he needed to do to win.
Jones ain't dumb. He has too much ring experience for Ngannou right now. But that smaller ring might cripple Jones too.
Because Ngannou is still growing definitely the same scenario could happen. Jones beats him in their first fight. Ngannou retrains and wins the second.
Jones is only 33. To act like he's not learning or that he's done or that because he hasn't been in the ring that he's been sitting on the couch living off the glory days is fukking retarded.

Ngannou is 34 and has a new team. The reason why he lost to Stipe was because he had no experience in wrestling. He only knew the basics and his stamina was lacking, so we was fatigued. The strikes that Reyes and Santos gave Jones are incomparable to what Francis can do. We can see his improvements in the last 2 fights before the Stipe fight. Stipe wanted to get close to wrestle him and Francis kept his distance, even when Stipe tried to wrestle he couldn't succeed because Francis is way stronger. Jones will try to keep distance and Francis will come in close range to avoid knee kicks.
This is literally how Francis took Stipe out.

imagine saying the heavyweight champion needs to have more fights before facing the guy moving weight class who hasn't even had a fight yet....
Jones is the one that needs to fight heavyweight cans first to prove himself. maybe someone ranked 6th-12th. I'm not sure if his striking will translate to heavyweight and when is the last time he took a big man down? His wrestling is NOT elite. all he did the last several years wrestling wise was drag his man to the fence and try to pin him down. won't work in the hws and especially not with the champion.
