Boxing's Dead though brehs....
does the casual fan even know 93% of the names up there
boxing doesn't need casual fans, casual fans don't pay for ppvs and buy tickets to fights
does the casual fan even know 93% of the names up there
caneloheard this for years it hasn't happened the best time it could have happened has since passed. Today mma is largely dominated by 1 entity and that's the ufc who are starving for draws. Dana was so adamant against females until they knew they needed fighters to fill their million cards now they are one of the biggest attractions. With that kind of forsight it's a little discouraging
CBS/showtime have also got out of the game, that was a huge zuffa free avenue for dudes to shine and raise their profile/value. We aren't likely to see a kimbo or any other personality that doesn't fit into zuffa's immediate plans again. Mma will exist in its own space like tennis or hockey but it will never see boxing. Dudes are so thirsty for the sweet science that they are clamoring to watch these two 4'11 mosquito weights duke it out. Boxing was suppose to die after Tyson, then dela hoya, now it's paq/mayweather? Nah some other name will be it's saviour
depends on what you call a casual. To me a casual is someone who doesn't know the history and the ins and outs of boxing. i have met people that went boxing matches that i would kill to see, but that dont mean they not casuals. to me a casual fan is anyone that is not a hardcore boxing fan. I bet if you went into the crowd in MAY 2nd and asked 20 of the people there who Marco Antonio barrea is or who carlos monzon is, they would probably not know who the fukk you are talking about. Buying a ticket doesn't mean they are hardcore fans of boxing, it means they have the money and they want to see a good fight. Why would a casual fan spend money on something they know nothing about
most casual fans watch in bars and on TV
you are a fukking moron
that's like saying a casual rap fan will buy tickets to a wu tang concert lmao
or a Jay-Z concert, yet the whole place nows the lyrics

Casual fans tuning in is what makes a big fight a big $$$ fight.
No it's not, which is why I make more money than you because you don't know shyt about business

Casuals fans account for a significant portion of PPV buys. They're important to not only boxing, but sports in general.
