It’s different for one because Gucci is hands-on label figurehead. He goes out of his way to CONSISTENTLY sign crash dummies. With no real strict structure around them, they’re gonna crash out.
Name me one success story out of 1017.
Remember, Gucci did foolish stuff like shoot a video with Foogiano after he burned his ankle bracelet and was on the run
Then he released a video taunting the police while Foogiano was doing the race. This video was a big reason he got sentenced to 5 yrs
Remember that Gucci was locked up for much of the success of OJ, Waka & Nicki. Debra Antney was actually the one who handled the Brick Squad artists.
Gucci by himself as a CEO has honestly been a failure and the only one who had any real success was Pooh Shiesty, and we see where he is now.

Charleston White called this a year ago that all of this is a reflection of Gucci and he specifically mentioned Enchanting. He’s talked about it often because she was from his city.
Enchanting’s management team confirmed to Shaderoom that she died from an overdose and was suffering through withdrawals and had been staying with one of them the last 4 days to get clean

What label has had this many artists to die, get locked up or catch serious felonies while signed with little to no real musical success?
There is zero artist development there even though he tries to promote 1017 as a “family.” Find me a 1017 success story the last 8 years out of dozens of artists like Ola Runt, Mal, Ralo, etc….
I called all of this out in a thread about Enchanting in 2021. And she was resorting to doing OF porn in cheap hotel rooms while still signed. It’s an obvious dark cloud behind that label and it speaks to the artists he chooses to sign and what mentorship is there.
We've said this numerous times, New 1017 has been terrible at selecting, marketing and developing artists.
This is Enchanting performingn at a HBCU homecoming (North Carolina Central University) and her stage show/presence is lacking, especially with her album being out.
Not one rapper over there has gotten a proper rollout. Scarr, WalkDog, Enchanting and two 1017 compilations dropped in the last few months to crickets.
Guccifor taking K Shiday's name off of the Youtube song title for the song "No Luv" and taking her verse off of streaming services last week.
She even talked about the 1017 situation 7 months ago after she got released
And yes, you can actually direct alot of Dolph’s beefs to Gucci.
