You absolutely blame his leadership and lack of structure. You don’t open a half-way house with no structure and give them all the tools (money, fame) to destroy themselves.

Saving them how? They’re literally 90% either dead, in jail or facing serious felony charges. Find me a success story from the last 8 yrs he’s been free….

Lil Mal - prison
Asian Doll - dropped
K-Shiday - dropped
Quill - Shot
Hoodrich Pablo Juan - prison
Roboy - prison

Even Death Row wasnt this bad and they actually made hits.

People don’t want to hold people accountable for their actions, and at some point you have to say Gucci is a bad mentor, especially the way he tries to market 1017 as a “family.”
Alright lets break this down
Gucci IS a bad CEO, but not because of the fates that befall a lot of his artists
His artist development especially is his biggest weakness, his artists usually end up feeling disgruntled because they feel he doesnt market them enough
However, you not really giving him his credit, Gucci was instrumental in the careers of Waka, Future, Dolph, Thug, Migos, Keef, Nicki, and more, but like you said his talent is more in discovering talent than developing it. But with the new 1017 groups he really got a lot lazier in terms of pushing artists, the artists I named earlier mostly all he did projects with
CoachDaGhost was already on the run for murder when Gucci signed him and some of these were people (like Maal, this girl) were not even signed to 1017 when whatever happened to them happened
Which brings us to the crux of the issue, which I was alluding to in my previous post
Gucci's business model is signing active street nikkas/bytches and junkies, most of them probably fall in middle of the Venn diagram for those categories
You can ask why does he sign those people specifically, but that's a dumb question
You would've thought King Von died a few months ago the way people still talk about him, that's what people like
People say the same thing about Empire cause Von, Dolph, MO3 died, but if you signing active street people/junkies isnt it common sense that they end up shot/in jail/OD?

How the fukk did black folks make it out ofnthe crack era and nikkas still wanna do drugs

Alot of the younger ones are self medicating and running away from demons that include sexual abuse, domestic violence, survivor’s guilt, and overall depression.

No matter what label they were signed to without any sense of self control, self worth, and self love they were fated to be doomed.

So no Gucci cannot be blamed UNLESS he was directly supplying drugs to these people. At the end of the day their addiction was something that only THEY could fight and overcome or acquiesce to and succumb.

Because the core problems of mental health haven't been fixed or addressed.

Doesn't matter if it's alcoholism, crack, pills etc.

The core issue is the need to address mental health issues first and foremost.

You don’t wanna hold grown people accountable.

Gucci takes street people and gives them a chance to make money, they make money and live like they are Tony Montana. Gucci gets blamed. Who is accountable?

You are acting like their life outcome would be different if they had stayed in the streets or signed with someone else.

The only thing Gucci can do to avoid this type of criticism is sign non street hood people and people from the suburbs. That’ll probably lower the probability of prison and murder but not overdoses.

When you keep signing the same type of self-destructive artists, the blame is now on you because it’s a pattern of predatory behavior.

Remember Deb had Brick Squad all in a house together to help watch them and be a motherly figure.

And again, we see that no artist ever actually pop off and remained successful with Gucci. It was either while he was locked up or when they went to another situation that had structure.

You don’t wanna hold grown people accountable.

Do you have any firsthand experience dealing with at risk people? M If you did, you’d know that there has to be solid structure and a program to acclimate them to regular society standards.

That’s why they have halfway houses and programs to reduce recidivism. Most of the people he signed have admitted they recently just started rapping for fun in-between street ish.

What Gucci is doing is seeking out the worst of the worst, giving them money and access to vices with no structure.

That’s not helping anyone and actually hurts them because now they’re funding their crew/hood’s bad habits. Now everybody in the hood got drugs and switches & it’s a whole war being funded. Seen it firsthand with his artists.

Look at the 20+ artists that he’s signed recently and tell me who he has actually “saved.” Where are the hits? On both fronts they’re bad investments.

You’re gonna have some make mistakes, but labels like CMG, QC & Cash Money have shown how to deal with street artists.

All of 1017 has come out WORSE after signing there.

Tbh. I think he has to sign people with the right mindset.

Master P is from the Hood.

Jay-Z is from the HOOD.

Nas is from the HOOD.

You have to find someone who has a desire to get the fukk out and totally change their family's trajectory forever.

If someone is still dealing with trauma or has poor issues holding themselves accountable and staying away from drugs or violence, there's nothing you can do to entice that kind of person to do better.

They have to already be there mentally before they come into a bunch of money and fame.

Hood is a place. A Dumb fukk is a dumb fukk regardless of environment.

I first heard this young woman on a song she did with Trapboy Freddy. She had a dope ass voice. Rest in peace to her.

And arguably, the only artist that came up around Gucci who’s not dead, in prison or in any type of shyt (that I can think of) is Waka Flocka Flame.

Algorithm doing it's thing and it showed me a short of her singing. I have a question.
Why the fukk was she pushed so heavily as a rapper? Everyone in her corner, including Gucci, fumbled hard on pushing the rapping shyt over the singing.

All the dumb ass tats = lets shop her as a whore.

Chick was petite and natural, if she had a clean image could have had a whole lane to her self pushing products to suburban girls.
With that voice and a name like “Enchanting,” she should’ve been pushed as a singer that’s at least relatable because of her content, her look and tats. Would’ve been a dope lane for her

Serious question cause I don’t listen to Rod Wave at all, but is he a rapper/singer? At first glance he looks like the former, but everything I’ve heard from dude makes him the latter

He's viewed/ pushed as a rapper but yea most his stuff is sing songy type. seems like in his verses he raps but he also ends it by singing the last word.
