I remember he was on the 01 Sixers team that went to the finals still getting buckets. He could have been an all time great but played just good enough to get his next check. Made 91 million in his career.

:wow:

He was with the Hornets that year and joined them the year after they made the finals breh.

He did have a nice 1st year in Philly tho.

I always felt that, on the court anyways, he was way more team focused than to worry about putting up his own stats. I know he was a dikkhead sometimes, but for the most part he was an amazing teammate on the floor

I think the complacency wouldn't be looked at like that as much nowadays. I think he'd be encouraged to stretch the floor and take way more jumpers.

I only saw him from Portland onwards though, so maybe my perception is skewed by not seeing him when he was in college and on the bullets. I never had a view of him as a guy who didn't reach his potential

Yeah you might be right about this one. I think it's more me projecting based on his skills but he indeed mostly played within the team and never gave me the impression of wanting to be "The Man".

Muggsy was good for that era though but they aren't giving a 5'3 guy a chance in today's league.

In this era there was another lil guy named Aquille Carr, also from Baltimore, this dude was nasty the whole city used to come out and watch him play they called him the "crime stopper", he was a huge mixtape favorite back in the early 2010's. He had a nasty handle, could shoot it with range, 48 inch vertical and had big enough hands to dunk.

He never made it past the G-League and plays overseas now. :francis:

Their games were completely different, but Barea had 7" on Muggsy and a much better scoring repertoire, any era that Muggsy is starting, Barea is gonna get burn.

Here's a more accurate comparison. Who you taking, J.J. Barea or Michael Adams and his broken-ass jump shot?

They literally have the same game only Barea is waaaay more polished with it and doesn't have that broken-ass jump shot. :usure:

Except that that skill set only gets you 7th man status in Barea's era, while in Adams's era he was a starting PG making the all-star game.

the one that averaged 26 ppg.

:dwillhuh:

act like Ishiah Thomas didn't average almost 30 a game a few years ago.

@Rhakim ya hurley was trash once he made it in the league so barea would’ve definitely been able to get some burn...I’m surprised to remember he was drafted 7th tho
