Yeah I remember. You know that was a famous DC quote right??
I always felt that, on the court anyways, he was way more team focused than to worry about putting up his own stats. I know he was a dikkhead sometimes, but for the most part he was an amazing teammate on the floorSheed got complacent and had a tendency to jack up jump shots instead of dominating the paint. One of my all-time favorite players ever since I watched him in UNC and imo had all the tools to be in that Duncan/KG bracket. Or at least Webber. Except motivation and focus. Those problems would still be there today.
JJ Barea is actually nice lmaoPeople love to talk about Jordan's competition when players like JJ Barea would've virtually gotten no burn vs the Bulls in the finals Jordan played in
Vin Baker made 4 all star gamesKenny Anderson, Detlef Shrempf, and Vin Baker were “stars” huh?
There’s a reason why they were forgotten.
That's my point breh.
There were little guys who were less athletic that Barea who were making All-Star, All-NBA, All-Defensive teams in that era....so why the fukk wouldn't Barea get burn?
Watch Barea rip up OKC's defense in the WCF....and we're supposed to believe he couldn't do this against fukking Steve Kerr in the same era that Muggsy Bogues, Spud Webb, and Earl Boykins were getting mad burn?
Steve Kerr himself said that he wasn't athletic enough to play in this era. But he could get 20-25 minutes/game for the most dominant team in the 1990s.
breh had substance abuse issues and even then was a force.I remember he was on the 01 Sixers team that went to the finals still getting buckets. He could have been an all time great but played just good enough to get his next check.
JJ Barea definitely would have played over Shandon Anderson or Howard Eisley.People love to talk about Jordan's competition when players like JJ Barea would've virtually gotten no burn vs the Bulls in the finals Jordan played in
He wasnt on that team breh.I remember he was on the 01 Sixers team that went to the finals still getting buckets. He could have been an all time great but played just good enough to get his next check. Made 91 million in his career.
