I like Pan's...it's different and visually beautiful.

I saw Memoirs of a Geisha recently. Talk about a movie being visually beautiful.
I might give Pan's a shot.

Watch it. It's a modern day Alfred Hitchcock film. The concept is creepy but the movie itself isn't extreme in any manner. Like a Hitchcock film, what's left to the imagination is what kills you

But Perfect Blue and Millennium Actress are pretty good movies that happen to be Japanese animation.

Only anime I've seen was the old movie of The Fist of the North Star, Ninja Scroll, and the original VHS set of The Guyver.

You doing yourself a disservice, there are plenty of quality "Self-contained" Japanese animated films that are not all action, some are even dramas.

Don't want to derail the thread.

Some good movies, but i found most of them meh.

IP Man is great tho. Must see.

Yeah I never saw IP Man. My brother would probably kill me for saying that.
He's big on martial arts movies.
He's still mad I didn't see any of Tony Jaa's movies.
